The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

Meh...this thread isn't one of BP's greater moments. It would've died a quick death shortly after the CFP announcement had the Buckeyes been one of the 4 teams selected to play in it, as fans ran to the Alabama game thread to talk about our chances.

Instead it's turned into a crusade for justice and fairness, strangely triggered only by the fact OSU was excluded no matter how many times the college football SJWs insist that has nothing to do with it. Keep telling yourselves you'd be looking out for the poor and downtrodden, screwed by the system, if OSU was set to play Alabama in the semifinal. Who knows, you may even convince yourselves...but you're never going to convince me.

Look this sucker up, tuck it into the administrative folder, and hope no one ever sees it again.

I don't care if the country forgets where Columbus is. I don't think the damn coaches are listening to pundits..... I'm sorry if you do, but I've met one or two in my life who were quick to say, "Get your ass on the sidelines in a uniform or clipboard (I'm old) before you start telling me what football is." As for the AP..... and they matter exactly zero.

As an aside, I believe the Coaches and AP have tOSU at 5, right? So much for the pundits bias there.

You're suggesting the CFP is somehow "rigging" things with Gene Smith sitting right there? Okay........ you don't think he'd speak up if he caught a whiff of that?

How does one get in a clipboard? Wait.. Kirk?

"The minute we stop expecting greatness from our football program, we become Wisconsin." - Craig Krenzel

Screw you kids. The minute we start peddling conspiracy theories and they are "out to get us" we become pussies.

Win fucking games. Don't look like shit doing it. Stop blaming other people..... and win games.

I'm disappointed I ever logged on here. tOSU fans aren't what they used to be.

This site is different. You should have lurked more to get a feel for the site. Some of these guys are elitist pricks while the others know guys like McNeil and Strassinni, but this site is hands down the best I have seen for info on the Buckeyes.

I think the conversation should have stopped 4-5 hours ago and that all parties are talking around each other at this point.

Now everyone can play nice, STFU, or keep the status quo but I will be waiting to see what the Buckeyes can do to that team from the PAC12.

Alabama also doesn’t come up north to play anyone in bad weather. Let them go play Purdue on the road at night when it’s 30 degrees outside and 15mph winds.

Not happening. Ohio State should stop scheduling these games as well.

College football is a different beast compared to every other sport because the dynamics can swing from week to week on both raw emotion and inertia; yet both are fleeting. 100 18-22 year olds... who knows what the fuck you're gonna get week to week?

Nobody outside of the most die hard Purdue fan that lived at least four years in West Lafayette had ever heard of Tyler Trent before Tuesday of the Purdue game. One thing I do know: Purdue wasn't losing to anybody that night. And those are the kind of stories that make college football great, even if we wound up on the wrong side of it this year.

Agreed.

I'll admit to be hardnosed and old school. You fuck up, you own it. I believe Woody said, you get back up and go at it again.

This blaming others crap isn't the tOSU I've loved for years. We aren't "they did this to me" men.

That last nine pages of read was a beat down, but I think he's finally stumbled upon a valid point. But then, I have no idea how wide the SEC conspiracy is supposed to go.:paranoid:
Funny. YOU GUYS watch the polls. I have no need for that. I watch the games.

I had to look that shit up. Still, to hear it said here..... "Damn, everybody is being influenced by ESPN....." JFC..... check the polls if you're going to complain about the polls being against you.

Guess what, Bama, from the SEC, has EARNED its way into the CFP almost every year. That's not ESPNs fault. Blame perhaps-one possible year- where there was potential bias out of what..... 7, 8, 9? tOSU also got in on dicy terms once too.

Bama has made the playoffs, or BCS final under prior rules, pretty much every single year for the last ten years. Yeah, they EARNED it. They're also not playing on the same playing field as everyone else.

Bama plays eight conference games instead of nine. They play an FCS opponent every year (the week before the Iron Bowl). They play their high profile inter-sectional opponents at neutral sites (usually in September and in Atlanta, which ain't neutral). But most of all, they play only two teams out of the shitastic SEC East every year (until the SEC CCG), and one of those is their "protected" rival Tennessee, which has sucked since Phil Fulmer went to that big donut buffet in the sky in 2008. Oh wait... when did Alabama suddenly become an unstoppable perennial power?

Saban has been largely unchallenged for eight years, since Fulmer, and eventually Urban Meyer, left the East. So even when he loses to LSU or Auburn, he gets a mulligan. Now add in the fact that the SEC East is coached by a bunch of window licking dysfucktional retards that call for fake punts at midfield on 4th and 11 with less than 2 minutes left in a tie game against a QB that can't throw...

Isn't your gripe more with Oklahoma than Georgia?

I have 0 problem with OU going over us. It's a toss-up for 5 schools to get 4 spots and we lost to Purdue.
My complaints are that ACC snuck 2 schools because ND and Clemson dodged each other while unranked Pitt was in CCG.
And no, Georgia shouldnt have been anywhere close to us and a spit in the face confirming once more that it's not a playoff committee, just ESPN's invitational.
