So. I've been away from home and haven't got to see this game. I've been following the score though. Is anyone that actually watched the game willing to drop a brief overview of what the issue has been today? Playcalling? Sloppy defense? Poor decision making?

A win is a win is a win, but I can't help but feel like something doesn't feel right about the way this game played out.

They looked pretty flat all game on the offensive side. Well, besides Pryor and Sanz. After Pryor got hurt Illinois got a big heapin' helpin' of Tressel ball (Boom got a lot of carries today). The defense wasn't extremely disruptive but was still dominant in the last 3 qtrs. Not a very exciting game but it's a win.

Can anyone explain why we ran the same running play over and over. I can understand why not wanting to pass so Pryor wouldn't plant on that leg, or why no designed Pryor runs....but why the same exact play?

Just curious (it obviously started to work at the end) why we didn't mix it up?

lol, Dinardo said, "I think 3rd and long is an issue with Terrelle Pryor."

Find me a QB that doesn't have trouble with 3rd and long.

Dinardo is by far the most ridiculous commentator of them all, and yes even Mark May.

I had a strong feeling about this game that if we let them hang around in the 2nd quarter that it would be a fight to the finish. And it was. The Buckeyes needed a game like this to keep thier edge. I've been around Big 10 football for over 40 years and this always will be the course for Ohio State Football.

Its going to be a war for every game for Ohio State. Why? Because we are the best for along time to come. Any team that comes to play against the Buckeyes will have to be at thier best. And for that reason it makes US play our best in times of games like we just witnessed. Not only on the offense but the defense as well. They come together as a team and will play with
great pride all the way to the end.

That and we've almost always played Illinois close.

Coupla observation...

- With the wind and an aggressive Illini defense, Tressel-ball was in full effect today.
- After TP came back from the injury, it was even moreso...
- Illinois is pretty much always up for tOSU. The fact that the Bucks played their worst game since Purdue last year and still won by two scores on the road can only be seen as a positive.
- The difference between this game and Purdue last year was Tressel-ball.
- TP is so deceptively fast...watching him glide down the field is like watching Bob Ross paint a happy little tree...
- Illinois is much better than last year. They found two good coordinators to help offset Zooks "Zookiness".
- Scheelhasse is gonna be a good one for the and will help beat a couple teams they shouldn't this year.
- Brandon Saine is a great Buckeye and captain, he's a helluva threat as a receiver, but he's not a good running back. I watch him carry the ball and I see Lydell Ross all over again. I wish Jordan Hall could get some of his reps.
- I love our return game.
- Special Teams looked better today aside from the nullified blocked PAT.
- Christian Bryant is gonna be really good. Still takes some bad angles, but he's young. He loves to hit and has a nose for the ball.
- Hope to God TP doesn't ever have to miss significant action in a close game.
- 5 down, 8 to go...
