2024 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

And it could grow over the weekend!
Add one more!

So, the Buckeyes get the best WR's of basically every recruiting class since 2019 or so and now we're nabbing the best CB's in the last couple classes and hopefully next season too. Now, they get to practice against each other every single day before going to play against inferior competition on Saturdays? Sign me up.

With all of the sad talk about losing guys like Stewart and Bolden. IMO, Baker at OT is still the most important target left and has been that way to me for a long time. Yes, DL are needed to remain elite as well. But OSU has seen teams with good DL and not so good OLs get destroyed on the national stage. The OL needs to be shored up, and for all the talk about the dominance of teams like UGA and Bama. What truly sets them apart is the consistent strength of their OL. It's a tad easier to find a DL in the portal than an OL as well

Bolden wasn't going to happen imo and I felt that the whole way... he is one of the best prospects in this class and certainly worth the fight, but safety is not a big concern for us in this class imo.

Baker has been the top priority of this entire class (for me anyways, but I imagine the staff feels the same way). My biggest concern this year is the potential drop off from PJ and Dawand at OT. I get that Baker still has a year of HS to play, but point is you gotta bring in some elite tackles mixed in with an OL class like we have already to be a championship caliber team. If we land Baker, then you can call it a stellar offensive recruiting class regardless of what happens after that (perhaps an obvious statement given that McClellan is the only other remaining target on offense to my knowledge and we look like the team to beat right now).

But we definitely do need a couple more good DL at least to add to this class and we are running out of options for our top targets...Scott is an amazing get at DT, but obviously numbers are a problem. We'll get there in numbers one way or another, but I just hope it isn't all Plan C guys like it is looking like right now outside of Houston. If we get Houston to go with Scott, I will be much less concerned with how the DL class ends...in that scenario you have two elite guys and then find two more that the staff likes.
