Game Thread tOSU vs. Illinois, Nov 1st @ 8pm ET, ABC

Will this be the first ever B1G night game in November?

I'll have to look up the Indiana game from last year. I was there, and it was SNOWY and DARK. But, I guess it's possible it was late October and/or a 3:30 game. Meh, I don't feel like looking it up now. Maybe Mililani can do it for me and save me the 15 seconds.

I'm pretty sure it was a 3:30 game. I went out to dinner at BJ's and it was on and in the second half. I never leave my house after 8 pm for dinner.

IU @ OSU was a 3:30 kickoff. They've been allowed to have November night games for a few seasons now. I don't know whether anyone has taken advantage of it.

That's odd, I thought UFM had been lobbying hard for it since he has been here and they just implemented it this year? Not disputing you, I just swore that Urban had been harping on this last year...I know it was on the agenda for few years though. If so, odd that this is the only year the B1G capitalized on it so much this year, there are a lot of night November games (we will have Illinois and MSU alone, then I see another with MSU vs. Maryland already).

I remember conflicting news articles involving Delaney quotes in 2012 and 2013. The gist, as I understood it, was that Nov games weren't exactly banned... they just didn't happen b/c [insert speculation here] but that the conference was looking into having more.
As the wheels of bureaucracy turn, I think that finally materialized this year with pressure from multiple quarters (tv broadcasters, schools themselves, etc.) forcing the issue.

I'm not sure if I can provide a link but I remember it coming out quietly during/before the 2013 season that they were allowed. The problem is there are almost no games anyone wants to watch in November. The exception is OSU-UM and that will never be at night in AA (and it's improbable in Cbus).

Yea I'm pissed. Went to the IU game and it was fucking dreadful. I was sooooo not prepared for it in terms of what I was wearing. The only game that I can remember leaving earlier than maybe the last few minutes of a game. Was late 3rd or early 4th I think. Wanted to go to an earlier game this year but wasn't able to. Now it's the first damn day of winter.

As others have said, the IU game from last year was a 3:30 kick. It was also later in the season, in other words, after the time change, so yeah, it was way dark by the time it was over. If I'm not mistaken, it was the week before the scUM game, which would have been like 11/23 or something.
