Game Thread tOSU vs. Rutgers (Homecoming), Oct 18th @ 3:30pm ET, ABC/ESPN2

Some of the posters over there are class acts.....wishing JT to get hurt and then we have this little gem....:sick1:

BTW -- now I know why Meyer has the heart attack at Florida: His players weren't running up the score enough. Wouldn't bother me if he had another.

Cinci and KSU defenses are tomato cans, but I think Maryland and the Jersey Jerkoffs are solid middle-of-the-road B1G teams. They'll both go bowling, and tOSU wrecked shop on them.

This. Maryland just put 38 up on Iowa for a win. Rutgers was a one-loss team before this beatdown. We can keep downplaying everyone that OSU is playing, or we can recognize that this team is putting up video game numbers against decent (but not great) teams. Sparty and the Gophers will be the big tests before the B1G championship, but for who they are playing, they are doing about as well as can be expected.

Offensively I thought JT was great and if not for a few missed open guys could've had another 300+ yrd game. Offensive line did awesome and 9 different guys caught passes that shows you how deep we have become.

The Defense to me has it for big stretches and perhaps yes I am too harsh on them but to me they still have a drive here and there were teams look like they have our guys on ice skates. Overall not bad at all (hell another team under 200 passing) but they gave up hits of 40, 28, 20 that really are what great defenses nip in the but. We will get there but IMO we got pushed around a little too much against a team that really struggled to run the ball since their starter went down.

We are creating turnovers and we got some good pressure but once we start making teams kick more field goals once they're driving is when I think we will be awesome. Overall a great to build off of (and better than I predicted) but still a lot of teachable moments

JT Barrett: 368 totals yards and 5 total TDs in 3+ quarters of play. Prior to his last drive (at the beginning of 4th qtr, where went 2-6 for 14 yards) he was 17-25-0 (68%) for 247 yards (9.9 ypa) and 3 TDs. That's including a couple drops which could've been big plays and a pass where he missed someone (Devin Smith?) streaking open across the middle. As dominant as the offense was, it could've been significantly uglier for RU.

345 yards and 17 points to a decent RU offense is outstanding, especially when you consider that a good chunk of it came in garbage time and 40 of it on a lucky jumpball. Nova and RU's receivers were more than capable of gashing a weak secondary, and getting one of those huge plays that have plagued us, but they really didn't. There is real growth on defense.

Is it there yet? Not quite, but it's trending nicely, and some of the young guys are really growing into their roles (Apple/Lee/Kwon). They're right where you want them to be and only getting better.

Not going to blame any coaches any more for running it up. If you have aspirations to be a contender for the final 4 with the system that is in place now, you need all the points you can get. No more Mr. Nice Guy, unless you don't care about finishing fifth.
