Game Thread tOSU vs. Virginia Tech, Sept 6th @ 8pm ET, ESPN & ESPN3 Skycam

So... Start drinking right meow, be blitzed by noon, sleep until 3:30 then wake back up -or- pace myself like a responsible adult..?

Are there really any games worth watching between noon and 3:30?

Cockroaches can eat pretty much anything. I've seen people eat roaches.

I'd eat there if the price is right.
When I did my senior crawl we started up north and the dube was our third or fourth stop. They had a "trailer park special" which was a can of pabst blue ribbon and a shot of well vodka for $3.

I'll always like the dube and don't particularly care if it's dirty. Get drunk and enjoy the tasty cheap food and alcohol.

If you're not looking for that scene go to the Taj Mahal down the street and pay $28 for an entree and $8 for a beer. I'm sure their kitchen is marginally cleaner.

1972 - I'm the ops/training officer for a transportation battalion at Ft. Hayes. We get a new CO, a VPI grad. I present him with the training schedule and he looks it over. "What's this in November, you've scheduled drill on the second weekend. We drill on the third."

"Sir, you don't want to drill on the third weekend. That's the Ohio State - Michigan game."

"So?"

"You won't have any troops," I told him, and then tried to explain how important the game was to people in Columbus. "Plus -this was the aftermath of Vietnam and we had drivers and mechanics who were lawyers, professors, sales and management types, grad students- a lot of our personnel are Ohio State grads or currently students. They won't show up."

"Nonsense, we had our big game with VMI, and that didn't bring the town to a halt. Change the schedule."

I argued some more, but he was convinced it was just a football game and that people needed to get over it. On the third Saturday, I joined the Colonel, the First Sergeant and about 30% of the troops and spent most of the morning taking phone calls from soldiers "too sick to make drill."

On Sunday I was ordered to never schedule a drill on third Saturday in November again. VPI has now grown to Va Tech, but I'm not convinced they understand a game at this level.

I think? I can't be sure. To avoid looking like a closet alcoholic I went with mimosa and breakfast. I'll pace myself until noon. After that, all bets are off.

edit: I will give this admiration to Va Tech - while it might not have the tradition and majesty of Script Ohio, I would love to attend a night game just to get rowdy when Enter Sandman starts playing. I think that would be fun.

I'm still waiting for the sound crew to drop that wretched seven nation army in place of something a bit more unique for our Buckeyes. Didn't someone recommend Welcome Home by Coheed? That would be beyond epic.
