The constant talk of Bagmen on goblow always cracks me up. Only DFBIA would actually believe that Rashan Gary declined a bunch of money elsewhere to play at scUM for free.
Also, what’s their excuse for Penn State? and especially Wisconsin?

It’s not like they’re just losing to Ohio State every year.

I didn't dispute they spend and have more money than us. There's more to 'resources' (Valentis word) than cash on hand or cash spent.

We don't need to spend because...
a. We have a solid talent base at home. That itself is a resource. You can't buy the value of having great in-State talent, and being The flagship school in that state.
b. The school has successfully leaned on that talent base - for decades - to build a stellar reputation both in terms of CFB consistency and sending kids to the NFL.

For posterity:
"We recruited Justin," Fitzgerald said at his press conference on Monday. "I mean he's a rockstar person. We were blown away with him out of high school. Then all of a sudden, recruiting, you guys gave him too many stars. You know, it would have been great if you kept him where he was when we were recruiting him (laughs).

None of this makes any sense to me. Why would Fitzgerald,(Who supposedly takes academics seriously) recruit someone who only takes “Online courses,” at Ohio State? I’m confused, I better go back and read through all of the Mgoblow’s analysis on the topic. Those guys can tell you a thing or two about an Athlete’s academics!

Michigan fan: O$U cheats!!!! They have bagmen!!!! They pay players!!!!

Also Michigan fan: Wait until the NCAA approves NIL rights for players, our rich boosters will out-spend everyone!!!!

So those rich boosters aren't already handing out $100 handshakes to Wolverine players? Yeah, right....

Dear Penthouse Forum,
I know a former OSU recruit and his HS coach told me that the recruit told him this story: when the recruit visited OSU he was at a bar with a bunch of the players. The players told him to go into a back room. When he got in the room there was a guy sitting in a chair and surrounded by scantily-clad women. The guy motioned to a bag on the floor that had cash in it and told the recruit to take it and pick any woman he wanted. The recruit said he told the guy ‘naw, that’s not my thing,’ and walked out. The player crossed OSU off his list of schools after that visit.

This is second-hand and I never talked to the recruit about it because I didn’t want to betray his confidence in his coach, and I also assumed the recruit wouldn’t confirm the story anyhow as I’d asked him about this specific topic more than once and he hadn’t volunteered any information. I’m a former journalist who covered the player and his team for a media outlet you would know. I suggested to a Big Ten reporter at a different national media organization that he look into it. I didn’t hear what came of that or if he ever did.
