We Just scored the Winning Point against Michigan!!!

I don't know about anyone else feels, but I feel like we just won the Michigan game all over again.

This brings closure. We can put November 18th in our hip pocket and the Wolverines are our Biatches for another year. No need to re-win what we already won. No need for a second proof of the theorem that "on the field" OSU > Michigan.

In 11 games the latest we scored the winning point was early in the third quarter against PSU. This time it took 4 quarters, two weeks, and one day. It really screwed with our average, but it is the sweetest of the bunch.

Not one of the components of the BCS system gave the nod to Michigan. Even the AP - which can not be accused of trying to avoid a rematch - went with Florida.

And if you want to feel even better mosey on over to their board and watch 'em suffer.

Some day we will get ours. But it ain't today.

I don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan .........

Personally, I think that Michigan is a better team than Florida and would've presented more of a challenge. Therefore, yeah I think Michigan got screwed out of getting a rematch... but ohwell. :)

For the sake of matchups and interest of the country, I'm glad there's no rematch and we get to see a new opponet that we rarely play.

We have NEVER played Florida actually...this will be the first time....which is kind of a surprise to me...

I would love to be up north right now listening to all of them whining and crying...I would just sit there and laugh my arse off!!!!!!!!

The great thing about this matchup is will go a long way toward shutting up the critics in the polls. If Florida had been left out and gone and won their bowl game in impressive fashion, they would have had a legit claim of "me too!", and you can bet at least one poll would go their way. That can't happen with scUM (unless we lose, which I tend to doubt). No poll is going to side with them if they win impressively. As long as we take care of business, no split NC this year.

Assuming we win, how could anyone vote Florida (assuming this were the case) when we were undefeated? If we played tsun and (shudder to say it) lost, and Florida won in impressive fashion over USC in the Rose Bowl, then I could see it as possible. But, lets face it, even with all those if's, what are the chances Florida could actually win a game in impressive fashion? They haven't really looked good in a win most of the year.

GPA time.

I remember telling my cousin as we left the Shoe that night that scUM was getting off easy because the media was going to start that rematch bullshit.

You lose The Game and thats it, it should be crushing, swift and final. They had 2 weeks to still have a bit of hope. Far too long in my opinion. Now they'll labor under the delusional idea that the BCS screwed them and they would have beaten us in a rematch. Still more than they deserve but diabolically hurtful to the group psyche in its own way.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking along those lines.

Llllloyd is crying about what Urban said about scUM and that it swayed the mind of the voters. My question is what is the difference between what Meyer said and what Michael Hart said after THE GAME? All he was trying to do was to get the voters pumped up about a rematch. It didn't work, get over it. Since when is the Rose Bowl chopped liver. With this system we all know that if you lose a game late in the season you probably don't get a National Title shot. I can think of a few years (96 and 98 for example) that we were undoubtly the best team in the nation but screwed up late and didn't win the National Championship. It will be interesting watching the BCS trying to defend itself this year.

Not to get off the topic but I think Hart's comments were not campaigning but just opening his mouth. On Michigan Replay, Sunday Nov 19th, they did a piece on Michael Hart and discussed his tendency to jaw with people. He said he was just a competitive person and sometimes his mouth got him in trouble.

I think the campaigning reason was just spin on their part to cover up his mistake!

Yes,and Urban was tactful when he said it too,as not to stir the pot but with Carr forget it. He goes off quickly.
Hart did do some jawing which got him nowhere. I remember on the news in C~bus him talking of another chance the outcome would be different, next November dude!
