I would love to see redemption for Ohio State to beat an SEC team in the national championship game. Then the SEC will have to give OSU some credit!

As for the cocktails.... I ain't that young lol when I lived in England I could drink alcohol at the age of 20. I'm going back over there this Christmas.
Dont look for the sec to give osu credit for along time! They dont respect any team unless its a sec team. They do not respect SC at all, and we are 4-0 against sec teams this decade. They come up with a ton of excuses why SC beat those teams. I wont say all of their fans, but most do not respect SC or give them any credit.:)

11-2 and get screwed by the BCS.

Ohio State will suffer a semi-respectable loss to Southern Cal, say 37-27. Once again, the defense will not look good in a big game, and the pollsters will drop the Buckeyes to around #8 in the nation. Ohio State fans call for Heacock's scalp, complain that the defense is "soft", whine that the defensive coaches "can't make adjustments", demand blitzes on every single play, etc.

As usual, Southern Cal will lose to a PAC-10 chump, but the Trojans will still finish in the top 2 in the polls because everybody loves them.

Ohio State will roll through their suprisingly weak Big 10 schedule, ending the regular season with an epic thumping of Michigan to finish at 11-1. After beating the Wolverines by a score of 51-3, Ohio State will be #4 in the polls behind Georgia, Southern Cal, and Oklahoma.

Missouri will get revenge on Oklahoma by winning the Big 12 title game. Ohio State moves up to #3....

#1 Georgia (11-1) will play #6 Auburn (10-2) in the SEC title game. Auburn wins, meaning that Ohio State moves up to #2, right? Wrong. The pollsters vote Southern Cal #1, and vault Auburn into the #2 slot based on their "strength of schedule" (Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Tennessee-Martin....). ESPN hacks belittle OSU's lack of speed, Mark May calls Iowa the best team in the Big 10, Herbie votes the Buckeyes #12 in the AP poll....

Thus, Auburn (11-2) plays USC (11-1) in the BCS championship, and Ohio State (11-1) plays Georgia (11-2) in the Rose Bowl. Southern Cal wins, proving that the SEC is fallible, but Ohio State loses to an SEC team for the third straight year. Ohio State fans call for Tressel's scalp, complain that Boeckman is the worst QB in Ohio State's history, whine that the offensive coaches "can't make adjustments", demand that the Buckeyes run the spread option, etc.

And so it's wait until next year, again....

13-0 NC

Ohio State beats USC more handily than most people believe. USC working in it's new starters improves over the course of the season to finish 11-1 looking very strong at the end of the year.

The SEC cannibalizes itself yet again and ends the season with several two loss teams.

West Virginia wins squeakers against Auburn and Colorado and benefits from getting South Florida at home and a down competition this year around the big east.

Pundits wonder WVU should get the nod over a 1 loss Oklahoma/USC for the title game.

I believe either of the following two things are going to happen:

  1. I have been so hyped for this season and have high expectations. OSU will lose a game sometime and will have no chance for redemption no matter what other teams do.
2. OSU beats USC and goes undefeated. Until January the constant message in the press and from SEC fans is: USC was depleated without Sanchez, inexperience and not the USC of old, etc, OSU plays nobody, OSU doesn't deserve a NCG bid, OSU would be 4/5th best team in SEC. Then OSU gets Florida thugs in NCG and beats them by 30. Redemption, finally!!!

The more I think about things, read about other teams, and hear things from practice, the better this Buckeye team sounds. I now believe that Ohio State has a better shot than anybody else to win a MNC this year. The talent, depth, health <knocking on wood>, experience and coaching have never been better, imo (although I miss Dantonio). No mater what has happened in the last two BCS Championship games, this team has every reason to feel very confident that they are the best damn team in the land. I just hope they take that feeling onto the field and make their opponents feel confident of it also.

Excellent point! If you beat an SEC team, all you hear is excuses.

Big 10 is about .500 against the SEC in the BSC era but the only games that matter are UF & LSU vs OSU and the Big 10 sucks.

USC has manhandled the SEC but you hear excuses. USC killed Arkansas (SEC west champ) but you hear: "They played them early in the season before they gelled" or "Arkansas wasn't the best team in the SEC, they should have played XYZ".

I totally agree. Just add humility and silence to every thing you said, and that should fill the bill.

From what I've seen, the NC is ours to lose. We certainly have the horses.
At any rate, I'll still say 13-0. Bucks all the way, Baby!
