WR Anthony Gonzalez (2005 All B1G, US Congressman)

It seems some on this board believe it's a foregone conclusion Gonzo is heading to the league. From everything I've read or heard, all signs are pointing to him returning for his senior season. As good as he is, it is unlikely Anthony will be a first round pick with all the receiver talent coming out this year.
You don't have to be a first round pick to leave early.

How often does a player say he's going pro early before the bowl game? No need to be a distraction to the team.

He runs a very fast 40, and he's technically sound so he should have a good workout. Why can't he go in the first round this year?

Glancing at the draft board... Johnson is projected top-5. Ginn and Jarrett are projected top-15. Jeff S is a late first rounder, and teams will worry about baseball. Gonzo could be the 4th WR off the board later in the first.

Perhaps the WR class will be thinner next year... but will his stock drop at all? He flourished as a #2/3 WR in OSU's offense with perfect throws from Troy. Will he have that same ability to excel next year? Small looks dangerous, but will he command the attention of the defense like Ginn?

his right what?
your not very funny ...

I think the real question here, is what effect will Tressel have on these players, in either direction? I think that winning the NC could be a major push towards the NFL, going out on top.

Anyone know what the source is of all the Tressel/Browns talk? It seems to pop up a lot, but we know it isn't true.

There's a thread which discusses that topic. The search function will be more efficient in this case if you use the 'advanced search' option that searches titles only, and look for either 'Tressel' or 'Browns'.

I could have provided the link, but this falls under the 'teach people to fish, and they can eat forever' theory. :wink2:
