WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion)

Meh, 2.5.

I don't think Cardale is going to be expecting or demanding any snaps next year. That's a player who seems to embrace and understand his role.
I'm not sure Cardale would agree. If he leads the Bucks to a win Thursday night I would expect him to believe he has at least earned a shot at starting. If he leads them to 2 more wins ....

What part of what we've seen from the players and coaching staff leads you to believe that they don't actually buy into the whole "unit" mentality?

There's a reason the offense has been practically interchangeable at QB and it's not because they all want to be named starter.

But that's just my IMO.

These are Division 1 scholarship athletes playing the sport's glamour position at Ohio State. The "unit mentality" is a nice sentiment, but they all want to be the guy and there will absolutely be at least one damaged ego in August. Believing otherwise is wishful thinking.

I agree, but which athlete will be the least damaged and able to play said position is the key. No clue on Braxton's recovery status in 8/9 months. And the other guys know they could be one snap away from trotting onto the field. Interesting aspect may be the new QB/OC coach.

Examples of some of the bold predictions I've seen on BuckeyePlanet in the past few months:
  • Cardale Jones will be used in special packages for goalline carries
  • Ohio State won't make the playoff
  • No B1G team will make the playoff
  • Ohio State's playoff hopes are toast after not earning enough style points against Minnesota
  • Ohio State's playoff hopes are toast after not earning enough style points against Indiana
  • Ohio State's playoff hopes are toast after not earning enough style points against M*ch*g*n
  • Baylor will jump Ohio State in the committee rankings after they blew out whatever scrub team they played
  • The Buckeyes have no chance of stopping Melvin Gordon
  • Jim Harbaugh would never pass up coaching an also-ran NFL franchise to coach at his alma mater
Please excuse me while I calibrate my opinion of all the proclamations in this thread accordingly.

No clue on JTs recovery in 8/9 months either. The Achilles he messed up was on his planting foot. I would venture to say we won't know how either Braxton or JT will be post-injury/surgery until the season starts next year.

I thought JT was supposed to be available for Spring?

Ive heard "available" as well. What exactly that means, I dont know. We heard last year that the staff was confident in Braxton being ready to go live once the season started, but we saw how that worked out. Even if JT is "available" for tossing it around, who knows how exactly that leg will feel scrambling in, out, or around the pocket. Hell even throwing the ball on that heel will take some time to get used to - look at RG3.

6 QBs on schollies come next year: Brax, JT, Cardale, Collier (the most forgotten about), Burrow, Gibson (should he stay at the QB position)
