Outside guy & contributes from day 1, IMO.

Which is why I am so pumped for this commitment. We need another true WR to step up and play next year...Corey is that guy. Huge commitment and a huge step towards finishing off this class. It was a long journey, but welcome home Corey! :osu:

According to the interwebs, here are Corey's stats from his year at East Mississippi CC (http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/fball/2012-13/players/coreysmithlaty?view=splits). I know it's community college, but those are pretty good numbers considering he was a freshman.

gp yds yds/g td
10 721 72.1 9

Edit: So he has 3 years of eligibility left, right?

I believe he has 2yrs left. He went to a previous juco school.

And this quickly makes us forget about the loss of james quick. And he can step right in and play since hes used to the talent level of bigger faster players

Every source I've see suggests 3 yrs left.

So why does Scout say he's a class of 2012 guy? That would mean he'd have 4 years to play 3, right?

He's a class of 2011 prospect then, correct?

I believe he started out as a 2012 prospect, but then had to reclassify to a 2011 prospect late in the game. His last two years have been spent at two different JuCo's. I'm almost positive he has 3 years to play 2.

Agreed. Can go from day #1. Just like that, overnight, the receiving corps took a step forward.
