WR Michael Jenkins (All B1G, National Champion)

A radio station down here had an interview with Falcons GM Rich McCay. He used to be the GM for Tampa Bay so they were able to get an interview with him. He spoke highly of MJ in the interview. This will be the second year that Vick and Co. will be running their offense and he feels that MJ will have a big year.

Awesome! Most OSU fans are probably also rejoicing, as Price was on that NC team that we could have shut down unlike FSU.

A number of NFL previews are expecting Jenkins to make noise this year.

Price gets $6 million a year and scores 3 TDs each season? That's a recipe for getting your ass waived in the no-guaranteed contract life of the NFL.

Not surprised MJ will now be starting. It will be great exposure for tOSU to have him as a go-to receiver for Vick, who gets primo network coverage year-round.

I couldn't believe Jenkins wasn't starting LAST year - Price, Finneran and Dez White? No wonder they drafted Roddy.

Aw, man, don't even get me started. That was the first year of the BCS, and it flat out sucked. I'd have bet my house we'd have beaten fat Phil and the Vols, even with Coop at the helm. :smash:

i think he'll quickly develop into vicks favorite target, his favorite target right now is algae crumpler, but tight ends are inconsistent and cant always be on the field.

I don't watch much Falcon football, but that's what struck me watching MNF last night (other than Vick's TD being such a gimme it should be illegal... lol) was how often Vick throws to the TE and how few times he goes to the Wideouts.

We all know how great MJ can be, I think they'll figure it out down in Atlanta soon.

He'll have a good year, but Vick will never make a receiver a Pro Bowler. He played better yesterday because they were ahead, and as such had a decent running game and he didn't have to do too much. When they get behind, especially against a team with a good front 4, 4/5 of his plays are running and throwing to Crumpler...I don't think that will change much.

Jenkins has already surpassed Peerless Price's total contributions to the Falcons, though

I think that'll depend on how his game develops over the years and as he loses a step... Of course, that'll be a while from now. Still, Vick has the arm to be a great QB... not sure about his accuracy all the time.. I saw his pocket numbers, and they are pedestrian. Outside the T-box, he's outlandish. Anyway, if he is smart enough to develop the "pure passer" part of his game, I think he can be more than simply "the show."

Could be...McNabb had come a hell of a long way (when his line isn't getting him killed)...I guess Vick could too...if he gets the right advice.

dont forget that the ability to stay healthy has been a concern. at 6'0" 215 lbs, hes probably the smallest quarterback in the league, thats bad enough, but then you add how often he scrambles, and the fact that he has made mistakes, and teams will get all the pressure they can on him, its going to be tough for him to consistently stay healthy.

Great point, McNabb has really developed in to a quality QB and not simply a mobile threat. Has everything Randall Cunningham had, plus.

I do wonder, however, how much of MV's game is dependant on his elusiveness. You're right, if he can't get the right advise, or wont take it, he'll one day lose a step and be a avg. QB.
