To reiterate a point in a previous post, it seems rather naive to think Tressel had to keep this close to his vest. If he was concerned about the player's safety, wouldn't he try to find out more, talk to other authority figures. How does keeping it to himself prevent the players from getting...
I don't know about that. There is hardly a good way this can be spun. They (ESPN) just quoted a passage from his book (Winner's Manual) and in it, he mentions about "winning at all costs".
Its really worrisome and disappointing. Hopefully there won't be program-wide sanctions.
He really did not have a good answer for why h continued to allow the players to play football. How can you go 6+months without talking to someone (including the players)?
I really wonder how big Sullinger. Going back through the thread there was concern when he was a 6'6" freshman and how he needed to grow to play inside.
He reminds me of Charles Barkley more than Al Horford, Elton Brand which are guys who he seems to be compared to.
Per the roster they list...
Its disappointing they didn't play much defense. Lavender particularly (for being so big) just stood somewhat like a statue with little intent to disrupt opposing shots. That's in stark contrast to UConn, they were, as a team, trying to block shots.
Prahalis is fun to watch, but seems to have...
He looked tired this game, especially at end. He stood there without any push a few times. I want to say that he seems "bigger" since the start of the season and could stand to lose some weight for next season.
His passes were not only better, but his mechanics seem to have changed. There is less of a pushing motion and more of a (although not completely) follow through.
This has happened after just two weeks off practice. I am pretty optimistic about the future, especially with 4 or 5 WR on the...
How about using Pryor as kick returner? With that part of special teams being ordinary last year, does anybody else think that he could help out there?
I respectfully disagree about making the NCAA tournament. This team is good but has no depth. Jamar Butler looked awfully tired toward the end of the game. I think the final box score had no bench players with any points. Although you can compete with 5 good players, you really need more...
