tOSU Women +13.5 vs UConn at MSG, Sun 2 ET, ESPNU

Its disappointing they didn't play much defense. Lavender particularly (for being so big) just stood somewhat like a statue with little intent to disrupt opposing shots. That's in stark contrast to UConn, they were, as a team, trying to block shots.

Prahalis is fun to watch, but seems to have little discipline.

The good news: At times (start of the second half) they played a level of basketball and displayed a level of talent that was competitive with (albeit not equal to) that of UConn.

The bad news: They showed a tendency that I have seen all too often under Jim Foster teams. Extended periods of time where they either do not now how, or do not choose, to compete.

To be clear, I love Foster and what he has done with the program. I love the ladies on this team and watching them play (today notwithstanding). And nobody in the Big Ten belongs on the court with UConn. But I have a hard time recalling a challenge the OSU women have faced outside of the Big Ten where I found myself saying "Wow, where did that come from?"

I don't envy the coach who has to go through that game film.
