  1. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

back in SF... Not that preseason numbers mean much, but I still enjoyed their QBs sucking today. Still wish Cardinals would pick Troy up. Wells needs a passing game there to help him out. 2. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

He played LB his first couple years. And that's on the coaches for thinking he could play there when the OSU coaches long ago figured out that wasn't his best position. Then he moved to DE, where their system isn't designed for DEs to make a ton of sacks. Add to that he was on the sideline most...
  3. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

So why the bashing of him by the press and a few Jets homers and the constant reminder that he hasn't had a sack? There's no logic. They're basing their evaluation on a stat that wasn't meant to be good in that system and those coaches. And if you evaluate him as a LB, well the OSU coaches knew...
  4. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

This will be good. Screw the Jets and Rex Ryan. Their two starting right DEs combined for a total of ONE sack last year. Prolific.
  5. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

It'll be interesting how Troy does with a competent coach and an offseason to learn the system. Not only does he know what to do with a QB, but he can surround Troy with better players, or at least get the current players to perform better.
  6. DT Cameron Heyward (6x Pro Bowl, 3x All Pro, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Didn't Mallett do something to Heyward's elbow, too? What a bunch of thugs. Ark must have paid off the refs because they were getting away with a ton of stuff.
  7. '11 JUCO DE Cornelius "Tank" Carradine (Florida State Signee)

If we report it, won't he have to repay the amount to become legible? I say go for it.
  8. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

Then we really shouldn't be expecting a lot of sacks from him in this system. Which is another good reason for him to leave. He did almost get one recently, but the QB got away with an intentional grounding. Does anyone know how many years are left on his contract?
  9. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

Interestingly, the Jets right DE, Mike Devito at 305 lbs, has zero sacks this season. That added weight definitely helped him outshine Gholston. http://www.nfl.com/players/mikedevito/profile?id=DEV250058 Granted, Shaun Ellis (290 lbs) who's staring in front of Gholston, has 3.5 sacks. But...
  10. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Heck, I like what I see. Even the anncrs in different games were talking Troy up. Like someone else said, give him a whole off-season with this team, especially the WRs, and the playbook. Besides, who knows what the draft brings. They already have two #1 QBs who Troy plays better than. He's...
  11. C Greg Oden (All B1G, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year, Butler Assistant Coach)

Let's hope his team gives up on him and the Cavs can get him cheap. Healthy, he'd be a great addition.
  12. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

"It's unfair," Ryan said. "Sometimes it's tough for fans to realize there has to be development with guys. You're thinking, 'Hey, he's the sixth overall pick. You're going to get Lawrence Taylor.' But there's only been one Lawrence Taylor. It just takes time for guys to feel their way."...
  13. DE/LB Thaddeus Gibson (official thread)

Hey, how'd that washed out Troy Smith do today?
  14. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

yeah, considering how he played against the Raiders, he has a gripe. and I don't see it as selfish or trying to create controversy. he's just passionate about helping the team and winning.
  15. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

flacco today Flacco QB rating: 23.8 4 INTs Ravens deserve the QB they asked for.
  16. WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Harris looks too much like Larry Hughes. And we know how he ended up. lol.
  17. WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

Finally, a QB that can throw deep to Ginn.
  18. DE Vernon Gholston (Official Thread)

"But coach Rex Ryan and even some of Gholston's defensive teammates were gushing about his progress yesterday" "But it was a coaching mistake. We put him now in a role where he can be more successful quicker. This is more of a natural role for him." Ryan, indicating that he should have moved...
