'05 MD LB Rico McCoy (Tennessee signee)

When asked in an interview yesterday regarding who Jamario was recruiting at the AA game, he said James McKinney. I wondered why this guy? I have come to the conclusion that Mckinney is probably the ONLY guy there who hasn't decided yet. Which means JG, Wells, McCoy, ect...have made thier decision.
Why would McCoy be wearing Bucks gear if he is choosing Tenn.? I think we get Wells & McCoy. Just my thoughts.

Dont you just love recruiting season...

we are down to analyzing what a player wears to determine where he will sign...

It's that time of year when 17 and 18 year-olds bring grown men to their knees. Regardless of the players that choose tOSU we are always envious of the ones that got away. Recruiting is a lot like fishing. No matter how many you get nor how big they are, the ones you seem to remember the most are the ones that got away. Also, those that you got on your last trip somehow become less significant than those you get today.

jeremy crabtree was on 1140 am in nashville and reported he was hearing mccoy to osu.

two other different sources at the AA game were saying the same. the idea is starting to gain momentum.

saturday could be a good day for the bucks.

There have been a lot of signs that point Rico to OSU. Reports from the AA game. His shirt. Reports from MD that he's leaning there. And most of all? His language. Every article pretty much pointed it out that he was leaning to OSU. I loved his comments that he will learn from AJ Hawk, and that Tressel clearing everything up makes it easier again. I don't hear reports of him introducing the UT coaches to everyone, just the OSU, and I just think the way Tennesee was recruiting him (showing up the second Tress left) seemed desperate.

It's close to 50/50, but I believe it's 51/49. I'm not saying it's a done deal but I have a good feeling. This would crush me, though, if it didn't happen, I love this guy. :(

spoke with ricos coach today and he said that he is as good of a kid as he is a player....

his coach is not the least bit surprised that rico is tearing it up against the best of the best competition....not surprised at all...

I listened to Rico on the BN radio hour today. He sounded like a well-grounded kid, a lot of 'yes, sir' to start his answers. He said nice things about Fickell as LB coach, and that it was a good situation for him with 3 LB's leaving after '05.

There was also an answer where he said something about 'being at Ohio State..if I end up there'. I think the pause was telling.

I like Rico and I like our chances of seeing him with a good-looking hat on Saturday, not an ugly orange one.

My wife will kill me when she finds out what I have done, but it is clear that many on this board are going to spin themselves into butter if they don't find out where Rico is going, so....

I cut open her cat and pulled out it's entrails.

Things look very good for the Buckeyes (almost everything was Scarlet).

I think the Army AA game is helpful to tOSU this year, because the guys with a little doubt in their minds about the status of the program can get shored up by other blue-chip recruits who are definitely becoming Buckeyes. It must be somewhat reassuring for Rico, I would think, to see three guys of the caliber of Alex Boone, Jamario O'Neal and Maurice Wells who would be his teammates if he decides to play for tOSU next Fall.
