update- it appears Russell was at scUM's junior day this weekend- I guess they are indeed a player in his recruitment :(

the latest Rivals update has him quoted as saying tOSU is his favorite- he has liked tOSU since he was little

he will be at tOSU Nike

Not bad, Grimes was committed to Florida State up until LOID. Russell looks like a Holmes-type WR (same measurables). I don't think we'd offer him at DB, but he should get a look at WR.

There is some video of Russell now on Rivals. Very nice looking WR. The only knock would be his size but he's got everything else. Great hands, good speed, and he's very slippery in the open field. He adjusts to the ball very well in the air. Not sure how many receivers we take in this class but if he performs well at camp I'd kinda like to see him get an offer.

If he's a Bam Childress with good hands, then we need to get him...

He's no Bam, but his video did look good. He's not so much of a shaker as he is jsut slippery.

That might not be a bad thing :p

Seriously though, he's very elusive and looks to have good hands. The Nike Camp reports I read said he caught the ball very well at camp too. Santonio isn't the biggest guy around and he's a decent receiver. :wink2:

Santonio is exactly who he reminds me of.

According to Rivals his favorite list is now Miami, Ohio State, scUM, Michigan State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. He has offers from all except tOSU and Minny- impressive list. Maybe he gets a tOSU offer at camp??

Well scUM just got a commitment from a receiver in Louisiana(No way I'm even gonna try to spell his name either) to go along with Manningham. Apparently they were only looking for two receivers in this class and they already seem to have them. I wonder how that effects their recruitment of Russell? Hopefully he has a good camp here.

well, maybe OSU has some interest in this kid, looks like a pretty good prospect at WR.

in the latest Rivals article he claims not to have a favorite-he still hopes to camp at tOSU-no mention of a Miami offer but he did say he has a scUM offer
