Talonnie is the next great skill player to emerge from DePorres. He is a more highly regarded college prospect than DePorres senior Carl Grimes (MSU signee). He was a First Team Class C All-State selection at wide receiver as a sophomore. Some prefer him as a college prospect at DB. DePorres Head Coach Gregory Carter had this to say about him to me last year: "Talonnie was First Team All-State as a sophomore starter at WR. He's 5'11, 175 and runs a 4.4 or 4.5ish forty. He's one of our fastest kids.

MSU and tOSU considered to be favorites while scUM does not appear to be recruiting him very hard

There is some video of Russell now on Rivals. Very nice looking WR. The only knock would be his size but he's got everything else. Great hands, good speed, and he's very slippery in the open field. He adjusts to the ball very well in the air. Not sure how many receivers we take in this class but if he performs well at camp I'd kinda like to see him get an offer.

He's no Bam,

That might not be a bad thing :p

Seriously though, he's very elusive and looks to have good hands. The Nike Camp reports I read said he caught the ball very well at camp too. Santonio isn't the biggest guy around and he's a decent receiver. :wink2:

According to Rivals his favorite list is now Miami, Ohio State, scUM, Michigan State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. He has offers from all except tOSU and Minny- impressive list. Maybe he gets a tOSU offer at camp??

Well scUM just got a commitment from a receiver in Louisiana(No way I'm even gonna try to spell his name either) to go along with Manningham. Apparently they were only looking for two receivers in this class and they already seem to have them. I wonder how that effects their recruitment of Russell? Hopefully he has a good camp here.
