Biography:
Jones has been dominating the line of scrimmage for Union-Endicott. Great leverage and athleticism - a heavyweight wrestler who won the state championship last year and was runner-up this year.

Scouting Report: Jones has a defensive end stance, but he still stays very low coming off the ball and uses his lateral movement to get past his opponent. Currently plays a 0 technique in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense and routinely is double-teamed. Lots of speed on each and every play.
"I can get through double teams and am really tough. I don't fold under pressure and am really dominant. I want to improve my upper and lower body strength. I'd also like to be faster and move around better. I'd like better agility."

I realize that this is November and these posts were in July, but I just happened upon them tonight, and since he is from our area I thouhgt i'd add my 2 cents.
Saw Jones play a few high school games since I live in the same town.
Yeah he's big and fast, but as a whole i'd rank him maybe a 2 out of a possible 5. Size and speed is damn important, but over the years i've seen many smaller guys at the same high school same position that were on the whole a far better players than he is.
First time our family and my son, who was also an all metro and all state player from the same team we were kind of in shock, we had heard that he was supposed to be great. But he seemed about average to us.
Teams seemed to have been able to run all over him. At least in the home games that we saw him play.
I saw the stats listed on him in Buck's post. My son had 80+ solo tackles in his junior year alone, and benched over 300lbs. Are you sure those stats are correct? Although my son was good, he probably wasnt a star. I would think Jones would have done better since hes ranked so high?

Anyways, I think he should stay with wrestling. He was by far much better at it then he is in football. At least IMO.

Oops, must clarify something. Although they played on the same high school team they never played together, same coach, same school though, but different years. My son graduated before Jones went to that school. I apologize.
