    DB-

Thanks for the info- did Darrieus get an invite yet to tOSU this summer?? sounds like he is pretty busy FSU, Auburn, VA etc.. Is he trying to make an early decison (before the season) or does he want to wait?

Keep us posted on his visit with Bobby Bowden :)

first off, big thanks to DB for sending me a tape of darrieus ramsey. i got it in the mail today and i will be pouring over it the next couple of days. ideally i will be posting tons of film on ramsey here by this weekend or next at the latest.

Yes, OSU sent him his first letters and camp info early Feb, so we are still contemplating if we will be able to fit it into our schedule.

To be honest, he will more than likely make an early committment. This recruiting process can ware on you and it's not cheap early on. Darrieus went virtually unknown throughout the season, but as you can see, he's starting to get around and is catching up. So if any of the schools showing interest makes an offer, then it may be first come first serve, because they are all great programs and he just loves to play.

I'm not sure Darrieus can make a bad choice from the schools on his list. As long as he stays away from scUM he's ok by me :wink2:

    VG,

You're welcome, I hope you enjoy it. I look forward to seeing it posted on your site. Now OSU fans can see first hand why he's getting so much attention. Any thoughts.....?

i have in my possession the darrieus ramsey highlight tape and i have started to post the film at a new sony imagestation account. i sent you a PM with the topic DB and i/we will start to share the film with the rest of the net here once you give final approval.

on a quick note, this film is really good. i would put him on the same level ad dareus hiley as far as recruiting rankings are concerned. hiley was a top 10 corner prospect and a top100 player. ramsey doesn't have the same hype yet (though if he runs what i have heard he can at the nike camps hype will no longer be a problem) due to only playing 6 games as a junior and sharing the starting tailback job early in the season but i believe the hype and offers will certainly be coming in full force.

anyways enough of that teaser, i need to get some sleep. ideally i will be able to post the link here monday night after work.

    VG,

Correction, the highlights were based on 6 games, he missed two due to injury and I didn't have the film on the final 2 games and the 1 play-off game. But he played in 9 and was only full time back 4 of them. He only had 124 carries on the season and only averaged 12 carries per game. In the two games I didn't have, one game he had 95 yards on 10 carries and the play-off game he had something like 12 to 13 tackles and at least 7 batted balls and a 46 yard reception. Although they lost the playoff game, he completely shut them down on his side of the field. They intentionally went at him for running all over them early in the season. That team went on to win the states with a 14-0 Record, but they never had an answer for him. That was the team in the highlights when he reversed the field for a 70 yard TD. That was his first touch of the game. They had only give up 7 points up to that game on the season, Darrieus had 3 touchdowns that night. ;-)

Hey, I really appreciated the support and comments. I hope OSU still feels the same. Also, he is the only 3 year starter returning next year. Last year he started and played WR and DB. He had 2 TDs and 1 int as a soph and led the secondary in tackles.

here is the link for the darrieus ramsey video files.

    http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287252803

these are the same video files that are sitting in coaches offices around the nation. these are in a sony imagestation account just like my film ( http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291265709 ) and osubux11's film ( http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287347521 ). if you have any problems downloading any of this film you should check out a real quick how to guide i wrote on the topic ( http://vanilla-gorilla.tripod.com/videofaq.html ).

as for the darrieus ramsey video, it it quite good and very long. there are 4 offensive and special teams highlights videos in there (all at roughly 2 minutes and 20 megabytes a file). if you have dial up access it may take up to and perhaps longer than an hour to download each of the 4 two minute clips (even longer if you use AOL probably). if you have a cable modem or other broadband access it should download fairly quickly.

if you do have dial up and don't want to download the clips for an hour a piece, i can't blame you, and i can help you. later this week i will pull some really brief highlights (more in the range of 10 - 30 seconds) and post them too. just remember that we are limited to 15 minutes of film here and i have yet to touch any of the defensive highlights.

big thanks again to db_bayrivers. it is his tape and this is all his video work, i merely lended a hand getting it on the net so that the masses can get a look at the type of film that college coaches get to see.

    enjoy the show.

(ps, as i type this only the first two minutes are available but i am in the process of uploading the other 6 minutes of film while i eat dinner)

DB & VG - thanks for the video

Darrieus reminds me of Shaun Lane (who also played TB and DB in HS but projects as a DB at tOSU). They seem to be about the same size and both have some nice explosion when they hit the hole. It is clear why he is receiving so much attention. :)

DB- good to hear. Hopefully he makes it to C-bus this Spring or Summer. How did his FSU visit go? Did he get to spend anytime with Bowden?

The FSU trip went well. We got there kind of late and went overboard on the tour, so we only saw Bowden in passing headed out to the field. We spent a lot of time with coach Lilly. They have a very impressive program and facilities, plus the game was very intense... I mean a lot of hard hitting...and some good defensive goal line stance....
