Four-star linebacker saving visits for Pac-10

Football recruiting really heats up this month. Don't miss the boat - sign-up for a seven-day free trial.

With his team losing it's opening round playoff game in a tight battle to the fourth-rated team in Washington, Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea linebacker Anthony Felder's season is complete. That doesn't mean he's done playing, however.

Rivals.com

Anthony Felder is thinking about visiting Oregon.
"This week, I was elected to the Washington All-Star game by the Washington coaches July 1," he said.

Other honors continue to roll in for the Rivals.com four-star rated prospect. He was chosen by Seattle Times as all-area linebacker, by the Seattle Post Intelligencer as all-league all-star, and was honored by his league as first-team all-metro defense linebacker, first-team all-metro offense fullback and Metro League defensive most valuable player for the second consecutive year.

When Duck Sports Authority last spoke to Felder he had an official visit scheduled for Notre Dame (Dec. 10) and mentioned that he'd also be setting up visits to Ohio State and LSU. Those two visits are now official - LSU (Dec. 3) and Ohio State (Jan. 7).

Felder said that those three schools have a lot in common, and really only one thing can differentiate them at this point.

"They're all quality programs, they offer great education, excellent coaching, and opportunity for bowl games and pipelines to the NFL," said the 6-foot-3, 225 pounder. "The coaches are some of the best in college. The depth chart is something they all have in common - they need linebackers. The environment is something I’ll have to look at when I get there."

With those visits scheduled, he has two remaining and is deciding from a group of Pac-10 schools, including the Oregon Ducks.

"I have two visits left and I’m saving them for Pac-10," said Felder, who is the No. 8 ranked inside linebacker by Rivals.com. "My dad and I are starting to narrow the list and will decide very soon. I’ve spoken recently with Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, and California. They would all like me to visit."

Oregon remains in contention for one of his two remaining visits and Duck Sports Authority will continue to keep in touch to see if Felder ends up spending a weekend in Eugene.

I wonder if he will cancel his visit to Notre Lame now and put us at the top of his list. I think they need to put the full court press on him. The firing of TW is only going to help us I feel. i believe it will put us in good standing with Wilson if the coaches feel we need him(If they feel Ashley isn't coming here) and I believe we could have just moved up to top 2 with Felder.

Tony's mom said it would make a difference. She had wanted him to go to ND. They really like TY and if he coaches at Washington it could make them a player for Tony.

hopefully Ty isnt named the UW HC for a while, if at all. This definately helps osu however.

Is Willingham coaching up through the bowl game? I assume he is. If so, his new coaching destsination wont begin to take shape until sometime in January.

No Willingham is not coaching up till the bowl game and the team is to decide today if they even want to play in the bowl game. I think Willingham will go to Stanford and Chow will go to UW so hopefully he decides to come to us. I know his mom also liked coach Tressel also. I hope his visit will blow him away.

I don't see either one of these guys coaching at these schools....I don't think Chow will leave USC and I don't think you can ever go home again......I hope Ty knows this and just ask Spurrier why he didnt return to Florida.

There have been rumors that UW has contacted willingham in the past few weeks already. Chow definately wanted to be the man at BYU. Zona opted for Stoops over him and he didnt want to go to kentucky. Stanford offers everything he wants in an opportunity. I could see him going there.

Tony is taking his LSU official this weekend but has cancelled his Irish visit for next weekend. ND said they would try to reschedule for sometime in January.

His mom said that Tony was disappointed with the Ty firing because he liked Ty and the coaching staff.

IMO, if Ty goes to Washington it could hurt tOSU's chances with Tony.
