'06 OH WR Ryan Downard (Eastern Michigan Verbal)

Lima JOck

Newbie, but old!
Ryan Downard a 6'2" 200 lb senior to be from Lima Shawnee H.S. is just starting to get serious looks from D-1 schools. As a Junior he had 67 receptions for 687 yards. What's most exciting is the kid has been working hard since the football season and an independent post evaluation by the "FAST" program [Individualized workout program]he is enrolled in clocked him at 4.42. Even if you dock it by .08, that is getting 6'2/200 moving pretty fast. As a basketball coach, I hate it when people exaggerate. I'm 6'11/2" and he is as tall or taller than me. I'm 230 and he is thick, but in the proper locations. LOL.

He has visited Iowa and Indiana spring practices and received letters from West Virginia, Nebraska, Ill, Miami[Fla], Wisconsin, etc. and most MAC schools.
Coaches from Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Miami, Ohio, and Cinci have been to the school talking to the head coach/getting films in the last few weeks. Most every school that has reviewed tape [which just started to happen] have been showing more interest in this kid.

Just wanted to throw this out for any college coaches [Including OSU] who don't know of him and may want to review his film. If anyone wants to cut/paste this to other college boards, please feel free to do so. Nice kid who can run and catch and atleast deserves a look from big time D-1 schools.

To all: Sorry I posted this in wrong thread. I emailed site to have them move it.

BuckeyeNation 27: Sorry, but I'm 45, fat and old [like I said]. Not related to him. Didn't coach him. In fact, probably have only talked to him once or twice. On the other hand, I've seen alot of NW Ohio football over the last 25 years and he can flat out play. I guess the steady stream of college assistant coaches in the school the last 2-3 weeks and the way he plays the game got me thinking that this kid deserved alittle love on the Buckeye Planet waves. To bad I was asleep and put it in the wrong forum. LOL.

Cinci asst. coach in the school yesterday. Things are getting interesting. It will be fun to see who offers first. One assistant said he was going back and meet with head coach to get final permission to offer. Will keep all updated as things develop.
