Broderick committed to Southern Cal in April, but he plans to take all five of his official visits; Penn State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Ohio State, and USC are his likely destinations.

Rivals - Mike Farrell - 10/29/06

His Rivals profile page says, "USC commitment Broderick Green talks about a connection with Jim Tressel and how it has led to Tressel calling Green a few days ago. That call has resulted in Green now saying he will make an official visit to OSU." I wonder what that "connection" is...

I think it is Scott Loucks (the head basketball coach), whose son Stefan is the QB at Pulaski and is rated the #47 QB in the country by Scout. He has verbaled to Texas Tech.

I am guessing it was when JT was the QBs coach either at Miami or Syracuse.

Broderick has great burst, vision, cutbacks, jukes, and a big stiff arm. His most impressive attribute to me is his ability to make his cuts vertically without losing any speed. I know at OSU that Dick Tressel really looks for lateral explosiveness on cuts, so it's easy to see why we are interested. Only slight criticism I have is that for 230 lbs. I thought I would see more drive in piles with his legs and I saw more of a scat-back. He is very strong but could could run a bit less straight-up. A great RB though.

One word: BRUISER. I don't think I've ever seen a player at his level use the stiff arm so frequently (and it's a mean one!). He keeps his legs moving, he doesn't go down on first contact, and from the looks of it, he's a VERY good pass catching RB (half of the plays shown were screens or catches in the flats... and there were a lot of them!). He seems to play very upright and loves to intiate contact. A little more speed and he could be a killer at the next level (meet Butch Reynolds). My only red flag is because he initiates so much contact and plays with his free hand so much, he may have trouble with fumbling. In my opinion, he'd be a PROTOTYPICAL throwback fullback if he wanted to (ha). He's a big boy.

That said though, I'd be delighted to have him in S&G. Clay, Hughes, Green... wow. You really can't go wrong with ANY of those guys!
