'07 OH DE Ben Martin (Tennessee signee)

Is it any surprise that he likes OSU and Tressel more?

From every update, everyone has said he's a Tressel type recruit. Not a ND cocky type guy. I really just can't see him fitting in with Weis and Clausen. Perhaps thats just me.

But high character kids gravitate towards high character coaches/leaders.

For anyone who may have missed H&G's earlier post regarding Mrs. Martin's feelings on ND...

Yes, she has and she likes him very much. Her wanting her son to go to ND has more to do with the precieved 'prestige' of a solid Catholic education from Notre Dame...she is old school in that regard. Ben is a smart kid with a good family. If he picks OSU she would have no problem with it...

fyi...my source told me that Ben tried to remain neutral during the Fiesta Bowl this year...yet found himself rooting for the Buckeyes by the end of the game. :wink2: (again, as always, take these nuggets for what they are worth.)

Craig, just to let you know...I had no problem at all with the question you asked (and i'm pretty sure H&G feels the same). In fact, feel free to ask me anything you would like if you feel something isn't matching up. I'll do the best I can (without giving too much away) to try and explain what is going on.

Thanks H&G and Hotmic... you guys provide a ton of great information to this site and I am sure I speak for everyone we really appriciate it.

As for information not adding up I didn't think that at all. I can only imagine how tough it is to be so highly recruited and having every thought on 50 message boards analyze it to naseum.....

The good news is Ben is going to get an awsome education at the school of his picking and will have the opportuntity to develop his skills to maybe make the bros.

Certainly as a Buckeye fan I want him to be a Buckeye, but you can not blame a kid for going to ND either or wherever he chooses to chase his dreams.

By BK...Ben is still looking at Florida, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State (all offered) and USC. USC should be offering next week. He talks briefly about OSU and ND.
