'07 OH OL Mark Wetterer (Louisville Verbal)

We are probably only going to take 3 OL this year. If for some reason we are able to land a class like Blankenship, Claytor and O'Dowd, that may be it for this year, given the talent that we are already sitting pretty with in '08. I love seeing kids like Wetterer and Schepis get an offer as much as the next person, but given the wealth of OL talent in '08, it looks like the staff may take a wait and see approach with the in-state OLs this year...

If the situation that is in place right now holds true, I would think that neither Shepsis or Wetterer gets an offer, unless Wetterer gets one as a DT. In '08, I think we will be happy that we waited if everything goes down right.

I totally agree...with Long, Brewster, Adams and Sanders waiting in the wings, I doubt either get offered...

Clemson & Ohio State Favorites for Cincy Tackle

By Matt Long
Clemson last month hosted a visit by Anderson HS OL Mark Wetterer (6-5 295 5.3) of Cincinnati, OH. The Midwestern tackle apparently enjoyed his visit a lot-enough to say that Clemson is tied with Ohio State as his favorite. "I really liked the Clemson campus and the coaches were pretty laid-back, but they were serious about football." However, neither the Tigers nor the Buckeyes have yet offered Wetterer, but he hopes that could change, "It's hard to say, but they definitely seem interested in me." He does have offers from West Virginia, Maryland, Conneticut, and Cincinnati, and said that he's interested in Michigan and Michigan State as well. Wetterer said that a pulled hamstring caused him to sit out from the summer camp circuit, but it allowed him to make several visits (besides Clemson, Wetterer has also made UVs to Ohio State, Michigan State, and West Virginia) and should be completely healed by the time his season football season begins. Wetterer said that he doesn't know what his decision will be if he doesn't receive an offer from either of his favorites, but said that he wouldn't worry about that until the time comes.
