Even with offers from most of the ACC and SEC, Brandon was thought to be a Clemson lock a few weeks back after camping in Death Valley. However, Brandon suddenly cooled and backed off...apparently tOSU has come into the picture.

DL Brandon Thompson (6-2, 294) of Thomasville, Ga., was scheduled for an unofficial visit to Miami over the weekend and he will go to Georgia Tech on July 6, Florida on the 20th, Florida State on the 21st and LSU on the 22nd. He also hopes to visit Ohio State, According to Thompson's father, Georgia Tech and Florida State have tightened the race with Clemson for his son.

Film:

My Take: I knew Brandon was a beast after word came out of Clemson's camp...however, his film is worth watching. He is what has become the expected out of the southern DL...big, agile, and nasty. That 40 time may say 5.3, but that first step says nightmare. Brandon explodes off the ball, through ballcarriers, and into backfields...however, he does show a tendency to play high and needs to fire those hands better...easily fixed. Brandon is basically benchpressing OL instead of shocking the breastplate...impressive display but won't fly at the next level. He is a longshot...but worth the effort.

His video is very impressive indeed...he is past the OL before they can even take their first step. Very strong and moves extremely well for his size (looks every bit 291). He does play high, though he did show a bit better leverage when playing nose...I'm surprised he isn't a top 100 player. So pretty much...everything grad said  I would be very happy to be able to land Brandon and have two Georgian DT's lining up for the scarlet and gray in the future.

I'd love to get Goebel, one of Keith Wells or Quinton Coples, and then another combo d-line(Mobley, or maybe Ben Jones). I'm not sure how the coaches are approaching d-line recruiting, but I'd be esctatic if that's how it turned out.
