'08 OH LB/RB Brandon Beachum (Penn State signee)

The Bucknut guys believe the best two linebackers in Ohio regardless of class are Brandon Beachum and Zordich (never heard of him). These two to go along with Devoe Torrence make up a great 2008 LB class in Ohio.

We also forgot that Williams LB from Miami Trace. He is like 6'4 235 and just amazing. Hands down the best defensive player I've played against. The '08 LB class looks good early but Beachum has to be up there a bit.

I don't think he is going to have the speed to be a rb in college,

Maybe, but we are talking about a junior-to-be. He has plenty of time to work on his speed. One thing is for sure, he going to pound the rock at Mooney because they rarely pass. Mooney plays one of the toughest schedules in the state (as far as smaller schools are concerned), so he's going to be tested. I'll see him at least once this season (October 16 I believe), so I'll have a better idea of how good he is. The film looks solid though.

Ahhh, thank RB07. I had heard he was a great talent, but oculd not remember his name for the life of me. Nate Williams if I am not mistaken?

Yes that's the one and as soon as we can get some measurables he needs a thread. I can about gurantee we offer him early. OSU is already very interested and he will likely be a MLB with his frame, so Beachum could easily find his way into the class at OLB but I'm getting way ahead of myself.

Early word is that Brandon is a BIG OSU fan. One insider from the area even said that there should be no worry when it comes to him.

McCarthy on the other hand...

I've heard nothing but good but nothing other than a couple Mooney fans, so good to hear. McCarthy doesn't surprise me but is he even an OSU prospect?

Maybe its just hype, but the 2008 class in Ohio (and for OSU recruiting in general) looks like its going to be incredible.

Its funny, but I think I'm starting to realize why we've been offering so many defensive backs this season. That looks to be the one weak position in Ohio in 2008.

Also notice the lack of offensive line offers, linebacker offers, tight end offers, no quarterback offer, and a relatively low amount of receiver offers (although I wouldn't really say that since most of our cb's are versatile enough to be a receiver as well)

These all look to be strengths for Ohio in 2008.
