Moore powers season sweep by Northland

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

An energy-filled rematch last night pitting two of the top three teams in central Ohio settled two things.
After watching Brookhaven win 13 City League North Division championships from 1994 to 2006, Northland is now on top after a 70-61 victory that gave the host Vikings a season sweep and a seemingly insurmountable two-game lead over the Bearcats.

"Devon is a gamer, man," Northland coach Satch Sullinger said. "When the game's on the line, he steps to the plate and produces. He's the catalyst ? the engine that makes us go."
Many observers believe that the 6-foot-4 Moore -- who had 27 points and eight assists -- is the top unsigned senior prospect in Ohio.

Possibly concerned over whether they will have enough players who can handle the basketball next season, Ohio State coaches are taking a closer look at Northland point guard Devon Moore. Moore and coach Satch Sullinger dropped off a videotape and the 6-foot-4 senior's academic transcript during a brief visit to coach Thad Matta's office last week.

Not sure who it was but someone called this the other day and said we might take a look at Moore...

The only reason I wouldn't like this move is the fact that we would have two pgs in the same class...I would rather spread them out and try and take one in the 09' class...I don't think Moore is any ready for college ball than Crater, and I think we will already have a guy that can either back up or start ahead of Crater in Hill depending on his improvement...

If the staff feels the need I am in their corner, and I would agree that PG is going to be he weak spot in next years team, esepecially early in the season...

As for Moore's game I really like it, but he is going to need to hit the weight room before he is ready to play at this level IMO...He has real skinny arms, even skinnier than what Conley was coming in here...

In the article, it states that they are looking at him as a combo guard. I think they might be more concerned about WO's more than anyone knows about. I know that Groce knows a hell of a lot more about basketball than me but I am not that enthralled with Hill and that is possibly another reason they might be looking. You might need to edit in the Recruiting thread:)

This seems like a reach to me.
