Aundre is receiving heavy attention now that Coach Dorrell has been fired. tOSU has offered and he will likely visit because he would love to play with Terrelle Pryor. He also picked up offers from Alabama and Kansas recently.

WOW, I just saw this and love the offer. Looks as if the change over at UCLA has affected him a bit. I also wonder if Dean checked in with the staff and made first contact, as I thought our rule was to not contact recruits who are currently committed unless they do reach out to us first. Hmmm, but either way, love the offer.

NOTE: High school of former Ohio State RB/FB/Wrestler James Aston.

Katy's Aundre Dean racked up every one of his 186 yards and three touchdowns in the first three quarters and then got a head start on resting up for the state semis.

Perhaps the biggest sign of No. 1 Katy's dominance Saturday was the absence of their two biggest offensive stars late in the third quarter.

At the 3:00 mark, senior running back Aundre Dean and senior quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell were mere spectators thanks to the work they did in the first 33 minutes of the night, leading Katy to a 42-0 victory over Clements in the Division II Region III-5A title game at Rice Stadium.

The Tigers (14-0) win their 10th regional title in school history and advance to the 5A Division II state semifinals where they'll face San Antonio Madison at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

"Our kids got after it and they came out ready to play," Katy coach Gary Joseph said. "They felt challenged because there was an undefeated team on the other side."

Katy lived up to the challenge from the start, thanks in part to Dean's workmanlike effort - 24 carries for 186 yards and three touchdowns - that got things started for the Tigers.

Aundre will play in the ESPN Under Armour game on Andrew Sweat's team, so I am sure he will get some "Brew Crew" work in for the game there from Sweat. I wish he was going to be in San Antonio for the AAA game, since we will have A LOT of Buckeye representation there (8 committed, 2 non-commits in Pryor/Jenkins), but I have faith in Andrew to get the job done.

Kid has a burst!! That is hard to teach....

He has a frame to add "fast weight"...

RB's with his size usually only have to worry about the first cut they make....ala Chris Wells. I know CW is even heavier.....but at 205, breaking that first tackle (especially at the second level) is easy when you have good balance, like this kid seems to have.

The video from Rivals is misleading, mainly because the opposing defense has 9 in the box....I literally paused it on the snap and counted 9 defenders in the screen.

If you can, view the scout video....

I know this isn't a huge deal, but I think this says something..

First guy that came to mind when I watched his videos was Jacksonville RB Fred Taylor. I think Aundre could put on enough weight to get in the 225 range, adn w/Butch and Lichter working him he should be able to keep his speed. He has a spin move to die for and he seems to go to it often. He, Saine and Herron would make a very formidable stable.

I can't access that one at work...looking forward to it if it is more impressive than the Rivals. He is a big back but too many ankle tackles and soft contact drops on the Rivals...

Edit: Can't see YouTube either...

Here's an extended highlight reel from Youtube. Quality isn't good but you can get the idea. There is a move at around the 2 minute mark that is just sick.

I agree to a certain extent, but his lower body strength definitely can be improved...which I think would account for 10-15 lbs of "fast weight"

I love this kid.. he's a naturally born RB.. great footwork, tremendous explosion through the LOS, he's got a nice set of stiff arms and spins.. He doesnt have elite speed, but the folks in Texas say he's added alot of quickness his senior yr..

I would love to have this kid in the class.. I also hear he's a great kid and leader.. plus this another player who comes from a championship program

Looks like a good prospect and looks like a good offer. Good burst off the cutback (very important), good speed, and very powerful. Reminds me a bit of Lendale White on some plays.

WOW. REALLY like this kid.

His runningstyle reminds me EXACTLY of Adrian Peterson. He's a fast big back who can hit the home run and really "attacks" the line of scrimmage. Not saying he's of Peterson/Mcfadden type quality, but his running style almost identical.
