'09 CA WR Shaquelle Evans (Notre Dame signee; transfer to ????)

Rivals $

5/22

From the ND site....Has scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame for the Michigan game on September 13th. Says he wants to take official visits to Michigan, Ohio State, LSU & Tennessee.

Nice to see that he wants to use one of his official visits to see Ohio State.

I just watched his film over at Rivals and I was pretty impressed. I like DuBose and Boyd a little better, but I would love to see us land Evans. He is similar to Appleton imo but I like Evans better. He seems genuinely interested and doesn't seem a lock to stay instate. Also, I just realized he is a 5 star on Rivals, as an FYI.

I just watched his films on Scout. I was impressed as well. I think we need to go after him hard. He is a stud and with Pryor throwing to him he will be even better. Some people are sold on James Jackson but I am not. I watched Jackson's video on Scout. He looks really small. Yes, he is fast but he goes down with any kind of first contact. Evans does not. Evans break tackles and has a lot of yards after the catch.

Yes, Evans is bigger and stronger than Jackson, but there are plenty of good receivers who aren't exactly tackle breaking machines... the staff is VERY fond of James Jackson.

Regardless, Evans is a stud... here's to hoping OSU sticks as one of the officials.

I remember people saying the same thing about this guy:

Football: Inglewood's Evans still creating quite the buzz

There haven't been many updates on Shaquelle Evans recently, so I figured it was time to check in with the junior from Inglewood and see how the whole recruiting process has been going over the last month or so. Sure enough, there's plenty of new information.

Last time we heard from the 6-foot-2, 200-plus-pound receiver, he had 12 scholarship offers from Division I programs pending. That number has increased to 17, and according to these quotes, it appears as if Evans will visit one of his suitors, Notre Dame, in September.

Plans are in the works for trips to LSU, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee in the near future. UCLA and USC are among the other programs interested in Evans, who has said in the past that he'd like to make a verbal commitment before his senior season. Stay tuned for more updates.

Says that USC, UCLA, ND & Michigan fit his criteria the best, i.e, looking for experienced coaches, winning conferences and national championships. Also says that he likes the Buckeyes, and the fact that tOSU has put WRs in the NFL. Plans on making official visits to tOSU, Michigan, ND, LSU & Tennessee. Says that he plans on making a decision closer to signing day.

Based on that, I think he doesn't know very much about tOSU.
