Listing Michigan State (offer), UNC (offer), Villanova (Offer), UConn and Florida (Offer)

Scout.com update 6/21/07

Tom Izzo, Billy Donovan and Roy Williams have called recently and Villanova, Louisville, Indiana, Miami(FL), Rutgers and Ohio State are showing interest.

This kid is a stud. I saw him on tv against Mayo's Huntington team, and he was easily the best player on the court(Mayo is way too selfish at this point in the game to flourish at team basketball at the high college level IMO).

He's just an amazing scorer. He's a lot like Eric Gordon. Just a pure, athletic two guard that can put the ball in the hoop a dozen different ways, and he does it efficiently.

I'm a spartan fan as you probably know but i thought you would be interested in this. He really loves Michigan State and Justing Young of rivals thinks he will be a spartan when it's all over with. That said with the likes of UNC and Ohio State on the list it will be tough.

Strickland says Michigan State, Florida and North Carolina are ahead of Villanova, Rutgers and Ohio State. He claims no leader. Strickland has taken unofficial visits to Michigan State, Villanova, Rutgers and Seton Hall and will take visits to UNC and Florida this summer.

Strickland says his top schools are Florida, Michigan State, UNC, Villanova, Ohio State and Indiana. He has visits scheduled at Indiana and Florida. Strickland indicates the OSU staff has told him he is their top target in the 2009 class.

Note: Changed thread title to reflect official offer.

adidas Nations Basketball Experience: 2009 High School Prospects

draft express

Another very highly touted recruit (#16 on Rivals.com, #10 on Scout) was 6-3 combo guard Dexter Strickland. It was very easy to see where his hype is coming from right as we saw him, as he?s absolutely jet-quick and is able to create his own shot at will against almost anyone. Strickland gets into the lane with ease thanks to his phenomenal first step and wide array of hesitation moves, and also finishes well around the rim as well. While scoring seems to be his forte at the moment, Strickland is more than just a gunner, as he also did a pretty good job creating for others too. He showed especially good decision making skills in transition, finding the open man with a nifty bounce pass, and distributing the ball unselfishly off the drive and dish.

After watching his film, I like Dexter even more...

He is a combo guard, but could more than handle his own as the full time pg, but you could say the same thing about him as the 2g...

He can slash, dribble, play D, shoot, and pass...

As I have said before either one of him or Cheek and I will be happy...

yeah, dexter is an all-around player. he is much more athletic than his stature and looks like a junior high kid in person (at elite 24 classic). surprisingly, though, he has major hops and plays a strong game. great body control and a smooth touch. he plays long. his demeanor was understated and seemed to rise to the occasion and the crowd while still playing within his own. really good player.
