Warren G. Harding High School
Class of 2009

Aunre Davis is an athlete who made huge contributions in all three phases of the game in 2007 as a dual threat quarterback, cornerback, and punt returner. Colleges like him as an athlete, especially with the possibility of him playing WR at the next level. He arm is solid, but his strength is definitely working in open space, which is why he could eventually become a wide receiver.

Coach Tressel made a visit to WGH last month while he was in teh Mahoning Valley. It's not known whether or not he has interest in Davis, but there is currently a positive snowball effect developing for him. He attended Bowling Green's Junior Day this past weekend and was offered soon after. Word is that several others may be closing in as well, so the next couple months will be very interesting. This class doesn't have the star power at the top that we've seen in recent years, so Davis could be a sleeper headed into camp season, especially if he gets a few more offers under his belt.

In recent weeks, Davis added offers from Eastern Michigan, Ohio University, and Miami (OH).

Yesterday at the Regional Final track meet in Austintown, WGH's 4x100 team of Davis, Joe Threats, Jerrale Butts, and D.J. Williamson advanced to next week's final in Columbus by finishing in third place.

Was part of the 4x100 team for Harding that finished third today. They will have a good chance to better that next year as the team was made up of three juniors and one sophmore.
