This kid is all I hear about when I talk High school football in the Northern Ohio area. I don't know much about him, but I did have the pleasure of watching him play the other weekend. He throws, runs, and HITS, and he even an well above average kicker/punter. He stands out on film and on the field. He's really OSU sleeper material. Toledo offered, but I don't know, he seems bigger than that. He is short, but so was Troy Smith. Maybe not a QB on the next level, but defensive backfield, sure. He's really good with the ball in his hands.

If you have time to watch the Fostoria/Shelby game, his performance in the second quarter really stands out on both sides of the ball (#11)

See, thats my problem, I don't know much about the kid other than seeing him play. But it was something to see. His highlight film is even better. I didn't know his brother was at MSU. I think he's be worth a Buckeye look see.

With the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, West Virginia, Northwestern, Iowa, Bowling Green and Pittsburgh all expressing interest, Hyde has put up impressive numbers during the first half of this campaign.

Hyde leads the league in scoring with 86 points (11 touchdowns, 10 extra-point kicks, two field goals, two two-point conversions), rushing (588 yards on 98 carries), second in punting (38.6 avg.) and third in passing (936 yards on 86 of 116).

On defense, he has made 36 tackles.

Our normal policy on starting recruiting threads is that not only should the kid be of OSU caliber, but that there should be interest between him and OSU, either one way or mutual.

I'll move this to the 2009 Football Recruiting forum for now. If interest between one or the other or both surfcaes, then we can move this back into the main forum.

Hyde is the real deal

If you want to see someone exciting, then head to Fostoria.......... Mr. Hyde lives up to all of the hype that surrounds him...... He is a one man show, and could be the reason a state title is brought back to the town..... He comes from the stock of Joe Johnson, Casey Mcbeth (which is his uncle), Damon Moore, and Richard (Skiddy) Newsome. He should be a finalist for Mr. Football and very high on the list of several schools. He can score anyway possible and I believe he has...... The Redmen are in D4 now, but are always threat to schedule.

From the Iowa site. Hyde was offered on his visit to Iowa this weekend, and accepted on the spot. It's always been Hyde's dream to play football in the Big Ten, but he also loves the academic side of Iowa.

Iowa is getting a heck of a sleeper...he is the kind of kid I expect to work his tail off to get on the field...
