Late defensive TD gives Marion fourth state title

The win capped Marion Local's 15-0 march, including a 5-0 playoff run that saw them outscore opponents 176-34. The Flyers shut down a Fighting Irish ground game that averaged 250 yards. Ursuline got 98 yards running into Marion's stone-wall defense Friday. The only nick was a 76-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Lamar McQueen to Dale Peterman early in the second quarter.

Anybody watch his 07 tape on ScoutingOhio... Im more impressed with him than I am Mason.. This kid is quick, and he can really jump.. he's a big play waiting to happen on offense, and he looks like a great (OSU caliber) CB..

Seems we have some TALENT in the secondary for 2009. We have Peterman and Barnett at CB, Mason and Denics Allen at Safety... and that is only in Ohio. We have already extended an offer to Darrell Givens, CB out of Maryland, too. Wouldn't be surprised in the least to see us only take Howard this year and then move on to 2009 and bring in 3-4-5 guys.

Dale's style of running reminds me a lot of Ray Small and his style of play at CB reminds me of Chris Gamble- high risk, high reward. Seems to rely on getting the "jump" on the ball or on the man to make the big play. He also looked pretty raw in some of those clips, standing like a statue until reading the play and doesn't have ideal technique in coverage, but he has so much potential to really become something with his athletic ability, speed, hands, and playmaking ability. OSU is definetly gonna take a good look at him.

I'm amazed at how deep the pool is gonna be in the '09 class. Goodness.

Ohio Defender Has USC Offer

By Phil Kornblut
The SEC is a big attraction for DB Dale Peterman (5-11 175) of Youngstown, OH and he was excited to recently land an offer from USC. "They called my coach and my coach told me," Peterman said. "When he told me that I got an offer from South Carolina, I went crazy. That's my second offer, but it's my first big offer from an SEC school like South Carolina. I just like the SEC. I don't have any ties down there or anything. They want me to play cornerback. I never thought I'd get an offer from a school in the SEC." Peterman also has an offer from Bowling Green and is getting interest from Ohio State. He attended the Buckeyes' junior day and believes they will offer if he qualifies. Peterman also is drawing interest from West Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois and Duke.
