Chip off the old block; Another Bujnoch paves way for Panther runners

Austen Bujnoch can put a lifetime of football behind every block he throws for Elder, and he and his fellow offensive linemen led a dominant offense to a 38-19 rout of Middletown Saturday at the Crosstown Showdown at Nippert Stadium.

"My whole life it's been football and learning how to play and everything," the 6-foot-5 senior said.

Austen's dad, Glenn Bujnoch, played offensive guard in the NFL from 1976 until 1984, including the first seven years of his career with the Bengals.

But long before his pro playing days, Glenn Bujnoch played football at Mount Carmel High School in Houston, where just about every high school has the same kind of intense following the Elder football program has.
