By Heath Schneider...getting letters from Penn State, Ohio State, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Akron and Tennessee. Says his dream offer is Georgia and is also very interested in OSU. Both Perez and his coach talks about his attributes on the field.

Watching the film the first thing you see is the kid has great hands...plays a lot taller than 5-11 because he attacks the ball in the air and can make some great catches in traffic. And these are highlights from his sophmore year...I'll be interested to see more from 2007.

In a Mario Manningham type of way? (Yes, spare me the 347 drops against OSU, you know what I mean  )

Actually I would agree that that is a very good comparison...remembering back to Manningham's junior film...

The first thing that jumps out at you is that he's exciting to watch. Very fluid athlete, makes acrobatic plays and has excellent speed. Looks like a Santonio Holmes, although doesn't have the moves yet. Ashford could be the top WR in the state next year.

They updated some of his highlights on ScoutingOhio... Based on the film I've seen, he's the best WR in the 09 Ohio class in my opinion. Not that it's the strongest WR class in Ohio history.. but of the kids who have some level of buzz around them, I like this kid the best..

As wadc stated, he attacks the ball in the air, plays bigger than his 5'11" height, he's a legit 4.4 guy or will be as he mature, and their is a fluidity in his game that you can't teach..

I like Fields and the Walker kid could be very good if he can add some speed, but right now I like Ashford as the top WR in Ohio, although as I said, it's not a strong WR class in state for 09

Bucknuts.com - Interest Picking Up For Shaker Heights Receiver

Although not a coach, just a casual fan who is always pulling for Ohio kids to get scholarship offers from The Ohio State University, I really like this kid's film. Can anybody tell me how they think Ashford compares with James Jackson? Is Jackson much better, much faster? For anyone who has seen him play, is Ashford worthy of an OSU offer?
