1-loss and in the NC game or no loss Rose Bowl?

What would you rather have happen to the Buckeyes this season?

  • 12-0 but end up ranked #3 in the BCS, but we win the Big 10 outright and go to the Rose Bowl.

no-loss Rose Bowl. It is a MNC anyway, the Big Ten has always been most important to me, and I could give a crap less what some 110-pound pablum-puker with a ballot or John "The BCS is the greatest thing in organizes sports" Saunders have to say. Winning is what I care about...the chips fall from there.

I don't see how a 12-0 season, no matter what happens, could be anything less than awesome. And if we do lose, but still end up in the desert, then that would be awesome too.

I'm not saying either is perfect.

I think this past season was awesome...and we were neither in the NC game nor undefeated.

Assuming that we have next years schedule I'd rather go undefeated (assuming we win the bowl game also) then to win the national championship with a lose. If we we can run the table with this schedule, to me there will be no doubt who the champion is. If we had West Virginia's scheduele, i'd rather have 1 loss and be in the title game.

Edit: I should also note that i'm not an Auburn fan but I don't view them as any less of champions, in fact in my mind they were still the champions. So I guess I view it as...

Would you rather of been USC of 3 years ago disputed champs with one loss or Auburn from 2 years ago not viewed at all as champions with 0 loses. Auburn for me.

"Awesome" or not, there's no way a 12-0 trip to a non-championship bowl is a big as being in the championship game with a loss...no way. The "best" we could hope for in the 12-0 Rose Bowl scenario is a blow-out win and a very close championship game so that we could hopefully jump both teams playing in the title game (ala USC in 2003)...and look at all the shit we give USC when they claim that AP title. Fuck that. I want to be in the title game so that if we win, we are national champs, period. I want to see JT raise up another one of those crystal footballs more than any other bowl trophy.

Nothing beats an undefeated season. Have to go with a Rose Bowl win over a Fiesta Bowl loss, it would especially make the BCS look even worst if there was another controversy, which might speed up the play-off system and demise of the BCS. Play-offs would be the best thing to happen to our football team in a while, Tressel's teams ALWAYS finish strong, and always finish as one of the top teams in the country.
