'10 NV PG Cory Joseph (Texas Verbal)

Bucknuts
Point guard
Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep
AAU: Grassroots Canada
Ht: 6-foot-3
Wt: 175 lbs
Class: 2010

University of Louisville assistant basketball coach Richard Pitino was in Lexington on Friday, watching one of the top guards in the Class of 2010.

Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep School guard Cory Joseph has U of L high on his list and was playing with his team at Lexington Christian.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Joseph had seven points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 59-53 win over Richmond (Ind.) New Creations Christian School.

Findlay assistant coach Todd Simon told me on Friday that Joseph has a number of schools interested in his game but that "a few stick out."

He said U of L is "pushing towards the top," while Ohio State, Texas A&M and Minnesota were other schools making a big play. Joseph averages 9.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.6 steals for the undefeated Findlay team.

U of L head coach Rick Pitino and his son - Richard - watched Joseph earlier this season in a game at the Marshall County HoopFest.

Findlay plays Durham (N.C.) Mount Zion tonight at 6:30 at Lexington Christian

Now being actively recruited. With the loss of Crater I think that a 2010 PG is a much bigger possibility so Joseph and perhaps Howard may now get offered.

Don't need to start a new thread...merging this with the old Joseph thread.

Elite coaches still flocking to Findlay Prep practices
By Rob Miech ? March 25, 2009 ? 11:11 PM

Findlay College Prep continues to be a hot spot for collegiate basketball coaches.

Before the season began, Lorenzo Romar of Washington, Bruce Weber of Illinois, Jim Boylen of Utah and others ? Lon Kruger of UNLV is a regular ? popped into the tiny gym at the Henderson International School to see the Pilots practice.

That was seven months ago.

The 30-0 Pilots, ranked No. 1 by USA Today and prepping for the eight-team ESPN RISE National High School Invitational next week in Bethesda, Md., are still playing.

The same can?t be said for Washington, Illinois, Utah or UNLV, or Ohio State, Texas A&M or Texas.

Wednesday afternoon, Buckeyes coach Thad Matta and assistant Archie Miller, and Aggies coach Mark Turgeon showed at the Henderson gym to watch Findlay.

More specifically, to see standout point guard Cory Joseph, a junior from the Toronto area who is being wooed by some of the best coaches in the country.

I also think the fact that he visited HERE for the MN game, instead of the one at their place, is a positive omen/tell. I think we are a serious player for him but the draw of playing with his brother ( or taking over for him ) is there plus LVL has a lot of momentum on their side. We need another option at PG BADLY tho!

We are really pushing hard for him right now...

Coaches were out in Vegas to see him...And you don't go to Vegas to recruit unless you think you have a legit shot...
