Rivals.com update 10/24/07

Hairston enjoyed his trip to tOSU and wanted to thank Coach Matta for the opportunity. Claims tOSU is high on his list along with Georgetown and at this point, these two schools are his leader. Hairston has visited Georgetown on several occasions.

I remember reading JS is projected to grow to 6'10"-6'11" which with his athleticism means he could probably play either PF or C. Thomas is most defiinitely a big guy with guard like skills, so SF is probably going to be the position for him depending on how his body grows. I honestly think for the college game, the way many teams are playing small, the best bet is to basically play 2 PF's. Don't get me wrong, I'll take a dominating center like Oden or Mullens, but in today's college game, I'm thinking having 2 PFs around 6'9"-6'10" is the way to go.

I believe Sullinger projects as a center and Thomas projects as a SF.

That is my feelings as well...Especially if Sullinger grows to be 6'11' or so like reports have said he could...

Thomas has the inside/outside game of a true SF...

With that said each could play the PF spot, but it is really the big guys that are the guys we are recruiting that are one and done, which seems to be the main reason for us targeting lots of big guys...

Yeah, I think I remember Malik being from the Detroit area, so it's definitely a different hometown. But, that doesn't really rule it out.

On a bit of a side note, I remember keeping an eye on Malik's recruiting about 5 years ago, and the entire Bucknuts forum (I think this was before BP started... or at least before I knew about it) was banking on Jim O getting this stud recruit. Well, as we know, O'Brien couldn't close the deal and everyone on Bucknuts imploded.

"Buckeyes will never get top B-Ball recruits!"
"We can't compete in recruiting with the traditional basketball schools!"

Looking back on those posts, all I have to say is: :slappy:!!!!

Thad Matta is THE MAN!!!
