Kid does it all. Whoever gets him is getting a heck of a player.

Yeah, I gotta say I was really surprised how good he is after I watched his film despite the level of competition. He might not be fast enough or big enough to play QB in the Big 10, but his ability to throw on the run with tremendous accuracy blew me away. He also throws the ball with some pretty decent zip. I definately like him best at QB.

On defense he plays with nice moxy and he is outstanding at shedding or avoiding blocks, but IMHO I didn't see the foot speed to play D at Ohio State. Then again special teams could definately use an athlete like him.

Looked at this thread after Wad replied to my question about OSU getting on a Saftey late. Offer sheet tends to be MAC-Level player.

Would have to guess his future in on the defensive side of the ball Satr/S maybe?. To amy's point I have no idea how fast he is but he seems to have enough football speed for sure. Also, I highly doubt we recruit kids to be caree special teams players.

John Lowdermilk on return to Ohio Stadium: Iowa's Lowdermilk grew up a Buckeye fan

IOWA CITY, Ia. – Iowa safety John Lowdermilk was born a Buckeye.

His dad, Kirk, was an all-Big Ten center at Ohio State who went on to a 12-year NFL career. Kirk also has season tickets to Ohio State football, and John tagged along for several games each year.

John was at Ohio Stadium on Nov. 14, 2009, when Ohio State edged Iowa for the Big Ten title with a 27-24 overtime victory. In fact, John stormed the field with other excited Buckeye fans to celebrate.

“It was a good game, a good environment, and the Hawkeyes should have pulled it out,” Lowdermilk said. “That’s all I remember.”

Lowermilk returns to the field at Ohio Stadium on Saturday for the first time since celebrating a Buckeye victory in 2009. Obviously, he hopes for a different outcome.

“It’s a little weird,” said Lowdermilk, a junior from Kensington, Ohio, who has started every game for the Hawkeyes at strong safety this season. “Funny how things work out. I’m happy with the way things have turned out. I’m happy to be playing for Coach (Kirk) Ferentz and the staff he has here.”

Lowdermilk never had a chance to be a legacy Buckeye – Ohio State never offered him a scholarship. Iowa did.

Ferentz said he’s not worried about Lowdermilk getting too keyed up for Saturday’s game.

“He’ll be fine,” Ferentz said. “He’s doing a good job for us. He ought to be mad at them, they didn’t offer him a scholarship. So maybe that works to our advantage.”

I think this will become a common theme for a number of players on various teams throughout the big 10. And will be used by the player and his team as motivation against the buckeyes. There seems to be a good numbers of Ohio kids around the big 10 that really wanted buckeye offers and didn't get one, but ended up at lesser big 10 schools and are a little butthurt.

Yeah this has been going on since scholarship limits.
