'11 OH ATH Shane Wynn (Indiana Signee)

We've all heard insiders from other schools speak about "committable offers"...meaning a kid may have an offer but the staff would tell him they are waiting to hear from a other kids at his position before they would accept his verbal. The precedent certainly exists, although I'm not sure if it applies to OSU...

Having said that, I can't see JT and the staff playing that game with Glenville...despite the recent frustrations over Cordale Scott and Latwan Anderson. I'm fairly sure Coach Ginn knows exactly where things stand with regards to all four kids OSU is recruiting (Wynn, Sturdivant, Walker and Jones). So while the status of Wynn or Sturdivant's offers may not be entirely clear to the general public, I imagine all those involved have a very clear idea of where things stand.

We heard a lot of this Miami talk out of Marcus Hall...and I expect we will hear similar stuff from Walker and Wynn. Many experts have posited that Walker is Marcus Hall Redux when it comes to the way he handles recruiting website interviews.

Wynn says he has an offer...people like The Dean and The Bank continue to have him in their final number...all of which leads me to believe OSU would accept his verbal right now if he were to offer it.

BN $ - Wynn: Pipeline Interrupted?

7/7

By Housteau...likes all his offers, including North Carolina, USC, Ohio State, Miami (Fla.) and Tennessee...says OSU has not pressured him by talking about pulling his schollie...plans to decide around February.

My concern with Miami (If I were Wynn) would be they could recruit a local speedster for his job next year. Of course, nothing is a guarantee anywhere but I think OSU has a plan for him.

I agree but didn't they already do that this year with Dorsett?
And can't we do the same exact thing? Not like OH, or our surrounding states don't have speed as well.

Very true... but in the "speed state" they aren't short on it. I just think he would have more security here but anyone can be recruited over at any given time.

I can agree with that a little. But I'm not too keen on this offer anyway, but hey it's already there. I don't see a point in going after a glorified kick returner. A lot of people compare Wynn to Trindon Holliday, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Trindon was a nice story but didn't produce, and I don't know where we put Wynn other than special teams. I don't think he'll beat out the number of other good WRs we have on our roster.

The offer is there and the interest is there. Trindon Holliday is 5'5" 152lbs and fast which is why there is a comparison. Wynn isn't quite as fast as Holliday, but who is? Trindon Holliday didn't produce? Returned 4 total kicks for touchdowns and was effective the rest of the time. Holliday was a running back and didn't start playing the position until his junior year of high school. He wasn't terribly effective as a running back, but no one expected him to be anything more than a role players.

Wynn had over 700 yards receiving last year. Seems like he is a 'good receiver'. He's tiny, but he's a playmaker. The staff has targeted him from the beginning and not Shaq Washington. Wynn would be a good addition.
