I liked Crider more than I liked Branden Dawson in the spring of 2009. How is Crider's development going? Anyone know? Still being recruited by tOSU?

I read somewhere that he has an offer from Wisconsin and that they are his leader. I think he's a planC, back-burner, for Matta at this point. He didn't impress too much this summer, so few majors have flooded him with offers evidently.

From your statement, it looks like he has the tools to be high-major just not the consistency that most high majors like. I've only seen him 3 or 4 times.

Wayne?s Crider picks Providence
Versatile 6-foot-6 wing player averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds as a junior; coach sees ?tons of upside? to his game.

HUBER HEIGHTS ? If things go the way Wayne High School boys basketball coach Travis Trice expects, area fans haven?t yet seen the best from forward Markus Crider.

And Big East Conference fans could be seeing plenty of him, too.

The 6-foot-6, 202-pound Wayne senior made his college commitment to Providence on Tuesday, which Trice hopes is the beginning of a dominating year for the All-Greater Western Ohio Conference pick from last season.

?I think he?s ready for a huge breakout season,? Trice said. ?He still has tons of upside.?

Crider?s commitment ended a busy period for the versatile wing who was also being recruited by Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan and DePaul. Crider visited the Providence campus over the weekend, which helped seal his decision.
