Let me add one thing to this. One way for vastly improved FE and performance is to remove almost everything from the vehicle for weight savings. Of course it would never pass a crash test and would look like shit. Yet hey, it's all a grand conspiracy against the consumer. I keep forgetting that.

It doesn't surprise me , the auto makers have not come out with many improvements in the actual engine in years. Our technology hasn't reallly kept up as it should have so why isn't it possible.?

Because IC engines are only so efficient. It also did not make financial sense to try anything else with cheap gas prices. It's a business, not a government funded research project. Add into that the fact vehicles are way heavier due to all the safety requirements, and you get what we have. There have been tons of advancements, but there is only so much left in IC engines and everytime you add another safety feature it adds weight. Also, don't forget, the emissions in todays vehicle are 100x less than they used to be. A car made in the 70's puts out more emmissions sitting in the driveway without the engine running than a vehicle of today does driving around.

Anyway, battery technology simply was not there for electric cars. The infrastructure is not there for hydrogen cars. The way gas prices were the payback for even the most efficient hybrid car was over 5 years. Even now the Prius payback for the extra cost is almost 4 years for someone that drives 15,000 miles a year. Then if you take into account opportunity costs it's still about 5 years. There is no financial sense in any of it. Complain all you want, but it's the consumers that drive technology. You have no one to blame but yourselves.

Is this the same guy who took the picture of that tribe in the Amazon?

I would need a little confirmation on this one.

As for conspiracy theories - apparently this guy believes:

I could have sold this [technology] off, but then people might not have seen it.

Apparently not anymore.

I forgot that huge dbags hold the key to high fuel economy.

This guy needs to be kicked in the nuts, and the paper that printed this trash needs to be used for birdcage crap catchers.

BTW...if you believe this is possible in a normal car (not you BB, everyone in general), then please send this guy money. I am sure your investment will lead to a huge windfall. I am sure he found the key to something millions of scientists and engineers have been working on for over 120 years.
