UA's Henry verbally commits to Toledo

Upper Arlington High School senior James Henry has made a verbal commitment to play football at the University of Toledo beginning in the fall of 2012.

A 6-foot-7, 265-pound offensive and defensive lineman, Henry played at Madison Plains last fall before transferring to UA. According to Golden Bears coach Mike Golden, he was recruited by Toledo as an offensive lineman.

Henry is the second member of the 2012 UA senior class to make a verbal commitment to a Division I football program. In April, Frank Epitropoulos, a 6-3, 195-pound wide receiver, defensive back and punter, accepted a scholarship offer from Ohio State.

Epitropoulos was recruited by OSU as a wide receiver but also may see playing time with the Buckeyes as a punter.

Last season, UA finished 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the OCC-Central Division to place fourth behind champion Hilliard Davidson (7-0).

By Scott...was at the OSU/Wisconsin game...spoke with Coaches Fickell, Vrabel, Bollman and Tressel...might also go to a PSU game and Indiana has been by his school.

Interest is really starting to pick up for James...

I've learned "kids" develop at different ages. LeBron was a man at 14, Michael Jordon was cut from the freshmen team at 14. Henry could end up being as good as some of the 4 stars out there. We have passed on some pretty good instate talent that wasn't rated. Jerel Worthy, Whitney Merciless, BJ Cunningham are a just a few that come to mind. Henry could be a blessing that comes out of the mess.

3.9 at Upper Arlington is a pretty good GPA at a pretty good school.

Toughest position to project is OLine as we know. I have seen more successful players such as Barton and Sims than the Jefferson Kelley's.

I always look for big kid that is athletic and can move...with Henry...check

Smart kid...with Henry...check

Wants a Buckeye offer...check

With all we have went thru this year I would love this class

G/C - Boren
G - Elflein
T - Kozan ( I still see an OT)
T - Davidson

and throw in Henry for restocking.

Forget Dobson, Kalis, and Diamond!
