Southward looks like the guy right now...if they don't flip him I imagine they bank it for next year.

Very interesting... I've seen Southward mentioned, but didn't realize the situation was as advanced as this... I don't hate the idea of banking the schollie over another WR, but will reserve judgement until the ripples of the coaching announcement have their due time to hit all parts of the country...

I disagree 100% If Urban Meyer is the next coach he needs to come in and evaluate where we are recruiting wise. We need speed at WR for his system. We need an instant impact kid for next year.

And who is Urban going to get with two months to go until Signing Day? And of those players you can think of (none) who is going to be ready to step in next year? Madaris? The class of 2012 is what it is. Lewis, Frank E and Thomas are your WRs in this class. Southward has been recruited heavily by Coach Drayton, has an offer and has been on an official to OSU. Madaris has not been recruited, doesn't have an offer and hasn't visited even unofficially in quite some time. If they don't get Southward, there are PLENTY of options for 2013.

A certain kid from Middleton is one option...

And I agree about masseuse having a slim to no chance of coming our way. I haven't heard him mention osu in an interview in Cincinnati in a very long time. Modeller, sends very few kids our way anyway

Ohio State in the picture for Moeller WR Monty Madaris
12/03/11
Written by mdyer

Moeller senior wide receiver Monty Madaris said earlier today he has been speaking with Ohio State?s coaches recently and Ohio State is on a list of schools he is considering. Ohio State hasn?t offered yet.

Moeller coach John Rodenberg acknowledged the Buckeyes are in the picture for Madaris, who was Division I first-team all-state and the Southwest District offensive player of the year.

Madaris said he is considering UC, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida State and Thomas More. (Madaris? mentor Jim Stofko is an assistant coach at Thomas More; we don?t expect Madaris will commit to the Saints).

Caleb is def. a bigger guy, around 6-2 and 210 (he's visiting today).

Diggs and Jones on the other hand are more like Percy. It doesn't look like either of them quite has the speed of Harvin, but they are comparable, at least from what I've seen on their videos.

Monty is a true game changer and I am surprised OSU is not offering him. Dumb I think, doesn't mean he is not top class by no means just because OSU is does not offer. It could be a very good indicator since OSU is known for great talent evaluation and making the most of players, but even they have totally missed on some future NFL stars to very solid College players.

Name a staff that hasn't missed on some in-state kids...happens every year in every state with every school.

In other news, Madaris has at least been in contact with the staff recently so an offer isn't out of the question.
