Perhaps it was the 26.9 points per game that caught Ohio State basketball coach Thad Matta?s attention. Or maybe it was the 8.6 rebounds per game that shooting guard Sindarius Thornwell averaged for Lancaster High School last season en route to earning South Carolina AAAA Player of the Year honors before transferring to Oak Hill Academy (Va.) in the fall.

Whatever it was, Matta saw enough and offered the 2013 shooting guard.

?It?s exciting because they?re a winning program,? Thornwell said. ?They?re a big basketball program and that?s good especially coming from where I?m from.

Troy Williams, Sindarius Thornwell Hosting Home Visits

Oak Hill players Troy Williams and Sindarius Thornwell will host a series of home visits at the Virginia school beginning next week and will then plan their officials from there, head coach Steve Smith told SNY.tv.

Here are their respective home visit schedules:

Sindarius Thornwell:

Sept. 9 ? North Carolina, South Carolina

Sept. 10 ? Ohio State

Sept. 14 ? Georgia

**Clemson is also coming in one day.

As for shooting guard Sindarius Thornwell, Smith said he plans on signing in the fall and is considering Ohio State, N.C. State, South Carolina and Georgia.

?Those are the main ones,? he said.

Smith said Thornwell will visit N.C. State and Ohio State on the aforementioned dates, and it?s possible Williams could join for one or both.

?He?s going to visit Ohio State and N.C. State in October,? Smith said.

Thornwell committed to South Carolina tonight. I didn't have much hopes of him coming to OSU after reading about him favoring SC and Syracuse earlier this summer.
