Troy Williams May Sign Late
By Adam Zagoria on September 11, 2012

EDITOR?S NOTE: This post was updated after an interview with Boo Williams, and reflects the fact that N.C. State is not recruiting Troy Williams.

Add Troy Williams to the growing list of elite prospects who may wait until the spring to sign.

Williams, who at one point was poised to decide this past May between North Carolina and Kentucky, may now wait until the spring.

?He?s leaning more toward signing late,? Oak Hill Academy coach Steve Smith told SNY.tv Tuesday.

?He talked to Boo Williams, his uncle, and they seem to be wanting to see who signs where, who goes [to the NBA], who doesn?t go.?

Added Boo Williams: ?Right now, it looks like we?ll sign late because we just can?t make enough school visits. How the schedule works out, we can?t make among school visits. We?ll probably only make one or two at the most.?

North Carolina head coach Roy Williams and South Carolina head coach Frank Martin both met Sunday with Williams.

?They met separately. North Carolina offered Troy,? Smith said. ?They said, ?We?ll recruit you all year?? if he opts to sign late.

Indiana coach Tom Crean and Ohio State coach Thad Matta met Williams Monday and Arkansas coach Mike Anderson is due in today (Tuesday).

Louisville coach Rick Pitino comes in Thursday and Alabama coach Anthony Grant Friday, as does LSU.

Smith said Williams has no visits planned at this point, but several schools are trying to get him on campus.

?He hasn?t set up visits,? Smith said. ?Ohio State is trying to get him to come in on Oct. 19.?

Said Boo Williams: ?We haven?t decided which ones we?re going to visit, between Ohio State, Indiana and North Carolina and all that.?

Troy Williams Plans Two Visits

By Adam Zagoria on September 21, 2012

Oak Hill small forward Troy Williams has set two visits.

The 6-foot-6 Williams will take an unofficial to North Carolina Oct. 12 and will visit Indiana officially Oct. 19-21.

He is also considering Louisville, Ohio State, Arkansas and Alabama, but has no other visits set.

?I?m still looking to trim [my list] down,? he told SNY.tv Friday by phone.

So Crean now has 5 commits for this class. He has 2 seniors and he already over signed by the allowed 1 last year. Am I right on this? That means he has to free up 3 scholarships from non-seniors to make room for the incoming class.

Not only that but if those numbers are right he's still going after at least one more. How does that even work and what is he selling that recruits keep looking past they have no spot as of the moment as well?

They have 3 seniors instead of 2 so I was wrong there. He still has to free up 2 scholarships from non-seniors. So either Zeller and someone else will have to go pro or transfer. Plus he is still going after other recruits.

That's okay let him recruit the h out of me 2013 class and be maxed out for 2014 because there are some really good players in that class from Indiana and I think Ohio State has a good shot at a couple of them.
