#19 Ohio State @ Xavier, November 18 @ 7:00 PM EST FS1

Oh god. Turn off the computer and get a drink and do something else with your night. Remember in 2018 when we lost to both Trash Rutgers and Illinois what happened that year.
The team that started 13-1 and finished 20-15? And didn't even make the fucking NIT? THAT is your example of turning it around?

Edit: I think you're getting 2 seasons mixed up. In 2017-18 they made it to the 2nd round of the tournament but did not lose to Rutgers nor Illinois. In 2018-19 they started 13-1, then proceeded to go 7-14 including losses to Rutgers and Illinois. They were passed over for the NCAA and the NIT tournaments that year

The bottom line for me isn't 2018 or making 2nd rounds or anything else. It's a simple matter of this damned team, 2021, not playing with control, making ill-advised passes, taking bad shots, dribbling out the clock and then bricking a three, fucking up a crucial inbound play. This team is just not together. They should be much better than they are, and that is on the coaches.

And let's not forget that this is basically the same team minus Washington who were a #2 seed and lost to a #15.

Teams look bad all time in preconference to turn out to be good to damn good teams. Especially teams playing a lot of new guys. So you both need lay off the hot takes

I admittedly have not been able to watch the last few games with work (including this one) and it sounds like we might be in for a not so stellar season. But to your point, I've thought that countless times after early struggles and CH teams seem to get better as the season goes along. Yes, getting upset in the tourney sucked last year, but it was a fun season to watch. We need CH to make a run in the tourney soon, but I'm not going to act up this early in the season. Plenty of time.

Long season - take that how you will because it could be good or bad.

I’ll just duck under some of the tomatoes being thrown at 001/2 to say, I’m not happy with the roster/talent and Holt isn’t doing much on the coaching end to impress the last handful of chances. I want better out of the basketball team and I don’t want to be told “just don’t watch.”

He’s gotta recruit and get ballhandlers in today’s college game. These slow footed, weak dribblers in the backcourt and wings just doesn’t work. Need creators or shooters with the ball in their hands.

I said last year but watching the speed of Baylor guards compared to OSU’s looked like a one team was in water.

I will say Branham is a player and next year’s roster looks better. I’d just prefer not taking average transfers that clutter things. I’m fine sticking with Holtmann - still love the guy and there’s glimpses where the team plays above their level each year. Maybe we look back after he’s been here 20 years and laugh about how mad we were for his first 5. Some things take time and there’s ups/downs along the way.

Not happy but not ready to dump him with upgrades coming so soon.

I'm not interested in reading the posts in this thread; people. But I will say that this game was an enormously entertaining basketball game between two good (not great) teams. Buckeyes have clearly been greatly affected by injuries to Sueing, Young and Towns, and the transfers offer little aside from Wheeler. But Meechie and Malaki show a lot of promise, Liddell continues to be amazing, and Zed Key improves from game to game. I'm enjoying this team, even as my projections for season record diminish.
