wow, Brian got lucky...someone was looking out for him. Look where the impact was...right in the middle of the two doors, if the impact would've been a direct hit on the front passenger side, he probably wouldn't have survived. I hope he continues to get better each day.

After accident, Illinois' Smith to miss remainder of season

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- University of Illinois basketball player Jamar Smith will miss the rest of the season after injuring himself in a traffic accident earlier this week.
Coach Bruce Weber said he and Smith's family have agreed that Jamar should sit out the remainder of the season.
This way "he can focus all of his attention on the physical, emotional, academic and other related issues he will face in the coming weeks," Weber said Friday in a statement posted on the athletic department's website.

After wrapping his car around a tree, Smith drove nearly a mile to his apartment and left an unconcious Carlwell in the car for nearly an hour before paramedics arrived. On top of this, he didn't even bother calling 911...

Talk about pathetic. How do you leave a teammate to die in your car. Even if he thought he was dead, why drive back to your apartment and then not even call the police. Some teammate. He should be kicked off the team.
