20 Questions With '06 Texas Quarterback Sean Hakes
written by BuckNutty (10/4/2004)

1.) Rivals lists you at 6-4 195 and having run a 4.7 40. Are those numbers still accurate?

SH: Yes, but if my offseason proves to be as effective as last year that 40 should be down to 4.5 or 4.6

2.) How is your team doing this year? What are your stats looking like?

SH: We are undefeated and have outscored opponents 217-13. Consequently we haven't passed much at all but I have run for 3 TD's and 164 yds on 15 attempts. Once we play some competition they'll let me start throwing but until the our coach is going to run until we can't run anymore.

3.) What would you say is your biggest strength on the football field?

SH: I feel like when the team needs me I make big plays in crucial times.

4.) What things, if any, do you think you need to work on to become a better player?

SH: I think I need to gain some weight but that's it.

5.) Is there any player in the NFL or college that you model your game after?

SH: Craig Krenzel

6.) When looking at prospective schools do you study depth charts? What other factors will influence your decision?

SH: I definitely am looking for a place where I can play early. The type of offense will also be another factor in my decision.

7.) Do you play any other sports besides football?

SH: Yes I used to play baseball, but now I run track and I swim. To keep in good shape.

8.) What kind of things will you look for when you make your visits to different schools?

SH: The athletic atmosphere and the coaches will be major factors.

9.) A number of southern recruits mention wanting to play where it's warm. Do you think you'd mind playing in cold weather?

SH: I would rather play in the cold, because that is what football was meant to be played in. It was first played in Canton, OH.

10.) When you lived in Ohio did you ever get to see a game in the Horseshoe?

SH: Yes, once when I was about 7 I saw the Ohio State Iowa game. But most recently I saw the biggest game played in The Shoe. My Dad, my brother, and I were by the student section for the OSU Michigan Game in 2002 when they went to the Fiesta Bowl. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

11.) When someone mentions the Ohio State Buckeyes to you, what comes to mind?

SH: Woody Hayes... and a Great Tradition.

12.) Do you plan on making a visit to Columbus at some point down the road? Possibly for camp next summer?

SH: Yes I am hoping to make it to their camp this summer.

13.) Does the fact the Buckeyes are considered a run first team bother you?

SH: No but I would rather pass the ball for 10 yards then run for 5yds. As long as were winning it doesn't really matter much does it?

14.) What is your favorite subject in school? Any idea what your major might be?

SH: I have a Business Law class that I like and I'm looking into a general Business degree.

15.) Who is your favorite athlete? (Any sport)

SH: My favorite athlete of all time is Johnny Unitas.

16.) What's your favorite website?

SH: I'm going to sound really un-cool but I never have time for the net this is a very rare occasion.

17.) What's your favorite movie? TV show?

SH: The Hurricane w/Denzel Washington and Chappelle Show.

18.) What's currently in your CD player? Who are some of your favorite artists/bands, etc.?

SH: Modest Mouse. I like classic rock like Jimi Hendrix and The Doors, my dad got me hooked on it.

19.) Speaking of music, at the end of every game the team salutes the band by singing Carmen Ohio. Are you a good singer?

SH: I was before puberty.

20.) What is one thing you'd like Buckeye fans to know about you?

SH: I am a winner.
